We're going to win it again...why bother....

all of these trades just to see the warriors win another chip

It will still be a better challenge than the last 2 years in the finals

Lebron will be irrelevant in the playoffs for the first time since the 2004-2005 season

it'll be fun for sure. the power shift is coming soon, so imma enjoy this season of dominance then we'll see what the future holds.

Like you, I have been saying that the Warriors are going to majorly regress next year without Durant.

However, I wholeheartedly disagree with you that this team has no chance to win a title next year if he does. We are still right there. Will we be the favorites? Not at all. Would we still be in the upper echelon of NBA teams? Absolutely. With Durants money off the books and maybe even Andre's, we will have plenty of money to bring in players that can help us win.

Our margin of error will have gotten substantially smaller, and we wouldnt be nearly as good as we are now. But to say no shot at winning without KD? Disagree. Strongly.

it just means that curry is going to go super nova but seriously this time won't have a problem bringing in new quality players. I trust in the front office.

Thats cool. We can agree to disagree but I dont think the Warriors will have much of a chance.without BOTH KD and Cousins. They have no dependable center in the middle and will lose a top 3 player in the league. Plus, Iggy and Shaun will be another year older. Plus they probably will only have the mid level exemption to get someone.

In my opinion, next year would be a down year and then they will come back strong once they are done with Iggy and Shauns deal and can really go after some big time help. Maybe even..... yes AD. Lets say they decide to not resign Draymond and have those expired deals of Iggy and Shaun I mentioned. They could add AD to go with the Splash Brothers. Kind of fun to speculate anyway.

Maybe I need to be educated, but I thought we would have a lot more than just the midlevel to offer players if KD leaves. Where does all his money go? Andre has looked great recently, but he did mention retirement was possibly on the table with another ring this year.

As far as AD goes, I dont think it is that big of a pipe dream. If your scenario plays out, I can see it happening. Just as likely to happen as some of the nonsense I have read LA fans think could happen in a trade.

Assuming the Warriors sign Klay they will be over the salary cap even if KD leaves. The mid level is likely all they will have to spend along with vet minimum deals. I am pretty sure I am right about this but if anyone has info to share that contradicts this please share.

Cant you you go over the cap if younare re-signing your own guys though? So hypothetically, if we take care of Klay last, we could bring in a player and then re-sign Klay right? Isnt that what the Heat did when they brought in Bosh and Bron? They signed Bron and Bosh and then extended Wade?

Again, I could easily be wrong here but that is my understanding.

This from the Chronicle
@Dtweez1: What's Joey Light Years' plan if KD leaves?
If Durant signs elsewhere this summer, the Warriors can't do much — in the immediate term, at least. They figure to be capped out for the 2019-20 season, leaving them to try to replace Durant with someone on the mid-level exception.
Things would really get interesting in the summer of 2020, when the contracts of Andre Iguodala and Draymond Green expire. It's not out of the question that Golden State could have more than $30 million in cap space that year. With just a bit of tinkering, the Warriors might be able to free up room for a max contract.

I dont think losing his shot and some confidence quite qualifies as "mental health issues". If so, there are tons of NBA and ex-NBA players with mental illness. While I wouldnt have taken him for the Dubs that doesnt mean that a change of scenery wont be exactly what he needs.

I'm sure a change of scenery will do him some good, but he still has issues.

I dont think he has handled it great but it has to get so fricking old having to answer the same questions over and over again. He should just say, "guys dont ask me another question on free agency the rest of the year because I will not answer them. Dont waste your time or mine".

call me crazy but I always have said the last 2 championships were far away from sure wins without Durant
Ya you guys were already amazing without him, but a healthy Lebron/Kyrie/Love were still good enough to win again in 2017 - Durant.
He's been your guys finals MVP for a reason. All these dubs fans acting like him leaving isn't a big deal is funny to me

hard to believe there are fans out there that think this but they're there and quite a few of them. smh

Klay can go thru long spells of poor shooting, Steph not as often, but you always worry about his ankles, Draymond is a liability as a scorer, but KD has been the night in and night out non-stop ENGINE that guarantees the team's dominance.
