Nah. KD deserved the MVP last year. In the important Game 3 that pretty much decided the series Steph went 3-16 from the field including 1-10 on 3s. KD went 15-23 and scored 43 points. People who thought Steph should have won it said that simply because of their love for him and the fact that he hadnt won it before.

Or they just think basketball is about more than scoring.

Lol

I understand.
Side note in the morning paper, that KD had a noticeable limp walking away from the interview table yesterday....Wow, it's been a couple weeks, doesn't look good IMO .........( by the way kids, a morning paper is kinda like the Internet , only it's not interactive and the news is lagging....try it sometime ,it's great with coffee)

There is literally not a single argument for Curry to have been the Finals MVP last season other than "I like Curry. He has never won a FMVP, so I hope he gets it."

It's not the best argument, but it's all you got.

So him being the PG and the entire offense running through him isn't an argument? Lol okay.

Again, I understand the crowd in here. Low basketball IQ. All good, we're all Warriors fans.

You just cant help taking a personal shot huh?

If you would like to have an actual conversation, rather than just be the typical smug you, address this then:

Points per game: 2nd
Assists per game: 3rd
Rebounds per game: T2nd
Steals per game: T1st
Turnovers per game: 1st (not in the good way)
FG%: 10th
3pt%: 4th
eFG%: 10th
TS%: 12th
Off rtg: 9th
Definitely rtg: 8th
Game score: 2nd

And I have bolded the categories that Durant was better than Curry in. Couldnt find the team +/- stats rankongs, but Durants blew Curry's out of the water throughout the series. Also want to point out that Durant had the best game out in the series and Curry had the worst.

So now that we have move past your claim that some of us are only looking at scoring, care to address this?

Like I said, there really is no argument to be made for Curry.

Stats based argument is weak when comparing two totally different positions, ESPECIALLY a PG. And especially this Warriors team, the way they reinvented the game, through and because of Curry. I understand why you don't see it. You've never coached nor played at a high level in any sport. I understand.

And it's not "personal," I'm not saying you're ugly. I just think most of you in here have simpleton mindsets regarding the game. I mean NJ is one of the most respected posters in this thread and he called it "the end of the dynasty" in the middle of the game when KD got hurt. Ridiculous. Way too emotional. But that's today's generation, in a nutshell. Mostly emotion, not much analysis.

I'll give you an A for effort for trying, but you're well known across many threads for skewing statistics to fit your narrative.
Hey Furlow. How in the f**k do you know if Steve played or coached at a high level? What is your definition of "high level" anyway? Its a stupid comment by you because you have NO idea what his background is. I may think your posts are dumb but it isnt because of your athletic background. Dont know what it is and really dont care.

You say it isnt personal but you basically just said that Steve and most of us have simpleton mindsets regarding the game. Of course you dont because you obviously know the game better than the rest of us.

As for my comment, yes it was emotional when I thought KD ruptured his achilles. But, I still think if he leaves and the Dubs cant replace him ( which they cant next year with more than the mid level exemption) it will be the end of their complete dominance over the rest of the league. Of course time will tell but I would bet anyone that they dont win a title next year.

Him and I have debated in other threads, he's admitted to not playing or coaching. Have you? What level? To me high level is college or pro. I played football in college and have coached football and basketball from youth through the college level. I have several close friends who played college basketball and a couple who played and coached professionally. So we talk about and study the game A LOT.

And if what I'm saying is a "personal insult," then so is what you guys are saying to anyone who disagrees with you. Just because there are more of you in here who think a certain way, doesn't change the fact that you guys insult anyone who has a differing opinion. The difference is those of us who have a different opinion aren't crying about the crap you guys say to us.

So maybe try not being such jerks with your responses, or don't cry when the same is done to you. I'm good with either way, just looking for consistency.

Yes I have played college baseball and won a California State Championship when I was 18. I didnt play basketball beyond HS and but have coached a lot in lower levels. But enough about me. I dont brag about my accomplishments in sports but simply replying to your question. I dont care what you played and I doubt anyone cares what I played. Steve is right with his comments about last years finals regardless of whether he ever played or coached the game.

You can keep thinking that Curry should have won the FInals MVP. Obviously the voters didnt because they watched the games and saw who was the most valuable player for the team. But I guess all those voters have simpleton mindsets. Or.. perhaps they saw who truly carried the team especially in Game 3 which essentially decided the series.

Same type of voters who made James Harden MVP this season. To me, simpleton. Yes.
