you're trying WAY too hard now.

A real team coming off a 6 year playoff drought lol
I wanted to do Marvin style recap of yesterday's Summer League game. Please see below of my thoughts. Looking forward to seeing more games for our rookies and 2nd years.
  • Jacob Evans- If you just looked at the box score, you might say he had a really good game. Scrolling through the different forums I noticed alot of people were down on him during this game. A lot of people think he just does not look like a NBA player. I thought he actually look decent last night. I just don't think he his role as PG fits. He just does not seem like a NBA PG. I would put him at the 2 and leave him there. One thing he needs to work on his is his jump shot. He has no confidence shooting a jumper and you cannot rely on these easy layups in the big boy league
  • Damian Jones- yikes, did he have a bad game which is very alarming. He had like 6 fouls in the first half. To me that shows very low IQ, especially when Kerr had to pull real quick during one of the late playoff games this year because of this issue. Another issue was he was dominated on the boards constantly. This is one aspect he must improve. I remember he was averaging less than 5 rebounds per game this year when he was starting. As starter, I expect more.
  • Jordan Poole- wow does this guy remind me of Swaggy P. He does not lack any confidence He just chucks up shots. I liked the sequence early in the game. Hopefully his shot improves throughout the summer league
  • Jimmer Fredette- Scoring comes easy to him but for me, I rather see his minutes go more towards the young guys.
  • Alen Smailagic- very intrigued by this guy. He has the highest upside of anyone on the roster. He is only 18 years old. I wish he gets more minutes as we go during the summer league. That driving dunk was awesome
  • Eric Paschall- there were some good and bad with him. He had two bad turnovers at the end of the game. I'm sure he will clean that up. Will be interesting to see if he gets better throughout SL.
  • Ky Bowman- a lot of people on the forums liked this guy. Quite honestly I didn't notice his play. Will keep my eye more for him these next couple games.

Evans was fine. Had a couple of 3s, couple of nice drives, and most importantly, did not look lost running the team as the PG. Didnt look like a liability on defense.

Jones has terrible body language. I don't like his game at all.
LOL. You guys are fricking ridiculous. Its the first game and a Summer League game. Trust me when I tell you that he will be a big part of the Warriors this year. He is SO much better when he has Draymond throwing him lobs to dunk

This is his 4th year playing in the NBA. He is playing against scrubs and rookies he fouled out not sure how much more you can defend this guy.

He has been hurt for 2 of those years, in fairness to the length of service statement. But he will need to step up this year ... stay healthy and just play middle of the road center.
So what are we really planning to do with D-Lo? What's the future trade piece for? Hes not taking steph or Klays spot and he cant play the small forward, two expensive for the bench

I think you move Klay to the three and hope Ron Adams can make him defensively viable. He has a 6'10 wingspan, the ability to be a good defender is there.

Top Troll in the WZ. And yes he is trying way too hard. Still makes me laugh that Reign even attempts to talk basketball
Jones looked great in the beginning of the season last year before he got hurt

It is a little concerning though.. hope he keeps working

I thought Evans looked pretty good and I think he is best suited to play PG. He certainly did not look lost. But, evaluating any of the players on one Summer League Game is pretty silly in my opinion. Lets see how they do in Vegas where they play several games.
Jones is probably rusty since he hasnt played a meaningful game since he tore his pec against detroit

Jones is a complementary player that is much better when playing with playmakers like Steph and Draymond. Set screens, block shots, get lobs, and defend the bigger centers. That is what the Warriors need him to do.

Offensively I think he will fit in. Problem will be is the defense. We need to find a defensive wing until Klay comes back. Backcourts of Vanfleet and Lowry just won an NBA title I'm pretty sure a back court of Steph and DLo will be fine. Just need to refill the bench.

Who would you suggest. Remember that these players must play for the vet minimum.
