I would rather have had Wesley Matthews than GRIII, but lets pump the breaks on describing that list of players as "some great wings."

But Matthews went to high school and college in Wisconsin. I doubt he would have come play here for the same amount of money he got from the Bucks.
This. Matthews probably wasnt going to ever come here. Mudlay shoots about as well as Draymond (or worse), Chandler is 32 years old and averaged all of 6 points last year. This is HARDLY a set of great wings. lol

Well at least they are better than Robinson barely played last year injury prone. I hope we sign one of the Morris Twins or Stanley Johnson.

We need one more center. I'd prefer McGee.
Warriors arent signing another C. Looney, Jones, and WCS will be their 3 man rotation. They need a scorer off the bench much more.

I was thinking of McGee over Jones.
Not happening Mayo.

He has no trade value. Dude just fouled last game in the summer league 😂.

What makes you guys think Javale would even come back to the Dubs on a minimum deal. He left a championship team going for a 3 peat to sign a minimum deal with the Lakers. I seriously doubt that was ever an option.

And.. why would a team trade for his contract and give up resources when they can simply sign Javale if he can be had for the minimum. LOL

Game 2- Warriors vs Lakers
Here is my game 2 "Marvin style" recap.

The Good- some players (Jones) who played bad yesterday looked a lot better tonight.

The Bad- the turnovers. 20 turnovers is just way too much for this team. They have to clean it up. Hopefully it's because these guys are not use to playing with each other.

The Ugly- We lost by 10 points to a team who got killed by almost 30 points to the Heat. I know the final score shouldn't matter as much in these games as development but I can't help to think the Heat will have their way with us tomorrow.

  • Eric Paschall- he had a good game. He looks the most pro ready out there out of the 3 rookies. There were a couple of sequences in the first half where he drew "and-1s" out there, which is always a good sign. He was also 2 for 2 from three. He plays like a bull out there. I can see him playing 10-12 minutes per game this year.
  • Jacob Evans- My only gripe with him is he is not a PG. He doesn't look like he has the handles for PG in the NBA. He had way too many turnovers (7 TOs) where a lot of them weren't legitimate steals rather just giving the ball away from his handles. I don't want to completely crap on him cause he does everything else really well.
  • Jordan Poole- Like I said yesterday, he has no problem chucking up shots, even if his shot is not falling. To me, this means he does not lack confidence. The one thing is to keep chucking up shots, you have to be a better shooter. He went 0-6 yesterday from 3pt line and 1-5 tonight. That is just atrocious. He is shooting 18% from the field these last two games. Hopefully it gets better cause it can't get much worse.
  • Jimmer Fredette- He played terrible. In game 1 he at least provided some offense for the Warriors. This game he provided little to no offense. He was a defensive liability out there and was a turnover machine. If he can't provide offense, then he shouldn't be out there. As stated in my first recap, I do not like him on this team as he is taking away minutes to a young guy who could use it. I feel like this league is for players who get their first/second chance to play in the league. At 30 years old, this is his 4th-5th chance.
  • Damian Jones- he had a bounce back game thankfully. He looked a lot better tonight. Yesterday he was in constant foul trouble with 6 fouls just in the first half. He ended up with just two fouls tonight. His rebounding was a lot better today as well, which is what I would like to see him get better at throughout this summer league. As it stands, I think he is 3rd string Center for Warriors. This means, Myers need to go out and get someone other than WCS
  • Alen Smailagic- I'm very intrigued to keep watching this guy play this summer league. He has the most potential out there. If this guy's develops his jumper, I can see him starting for the Warriors 3-4 years from now. He moves pretty well for his size. For an 18 year old, he is holding his own out there.

Looking forward to tomorrow's game. I'm intrigued by Tyler Herro for the Heat. He had a good 1st game

I agree on Paschall - he reminds me of Elton Brand.

These last two games, he gets to the rim pretty well. He has been able to get to the foul line the last two games. Additionally, the jumper looked good today which I thought is one area he needed to work on. After watching these last two games, out of the whole team out there, right now he is more pro-ready than one else. Obviously, I think Paschall will over take him in that regard later this year.

You dont have to copy the entire LONG post every time man. Its just 2 games so nothing they do is going to get me super excited or super down on anyone. I do think Evans and Jones will get significant playing time and Pashcall could as well. No one else on the floor will be much of a contributor to the team this year.

Agree that Evans, Jones, and Paschall getting playing time with the team this year. Poole and Smailagic will be playing in Santa Cruz. Hopefully '20-21 we see Smailagic playing with the Dubs.

Poole playing in sc would be a disaster, he's supposed to contribute immediately
