Back to Back NBA Champion Golden State Warriors 2018-19

Not much chance they will have a better record than Utah, Portland, Houston, or Denver. Cant lose Klay for most of the year, lose KD, lose Iggy, and lose Cousins and think they can be a top 3 team in the West.

Nor do I want them to shoot for top 3 really. In order to finish top 3. Curry will have to play more than 3 quarters a game and nearly every game. Last thing we need is running him into the ground.

Everyone needs to remember that teams might look better on paper because of stars added. But it doesn't ever mean that it'll work. Teams regress all the time when adding stars. It f**ks up chemistry . Then add in injuries. We all know what happened last year to the massive favorites.

For example, Who knows if Conley can mesh with the jazz. Or if he can even stay healthy.

I am with you on this. It's not looking good anymore. I think letting West and Schlenk go was a huge mistake. having said that, I am not sure if they had any control over their departure.

How did they let Schlenk go? He wasnt going to take Myers job obviously and he had a chance to be GM in Atlanta.

West?

I didnt say a thing about West. You were the one that brought up letting Schlenk go as though the Warriors screwed up. He left for a great chance to be GM.

Should have put a gun to his head and forced him to stay. But seriously when your at the top teams are going to come for your execs and coaches. You can't keep them all.

I think bobby wanted to trade Klay and Draymond for Kevin love at one point.
Stop making crap up. You know that was never the case.

Stop being a Myers apologist. link

Forreal lol. How you gonna hate on these guys after giving us an All Star starting 5 this past year?

Ridiculous expectations for thinking we should consistently be drafting and developing players at the end of the first round. The bust rate is huge in the NBA. Even for teams picking in the top 10. Suns even just gave up on a guy they picked at 4(who was a top 5 talent).

Look at the last drafts. It's tough even finding any players that we "should've" picked. And that's using hindsight.
I still think the Dubs have a real shot this year. The west is loaded with good teams so you never know. But I also think it's a bit flat 1-8. Playoff seeding won't matter much because all 8 teams will be good. And while both LA teams look good in paper I don't think either is unbeatable. Western conference playoffs will be about luck, matchups and health.
If the Dubs make the playoffs and have Klay back (both of which I think are likely) then I think they have as good a chance as anyone.
The Lakers got Boogie for a minimum almost same salary as Damion Jones around $2.5 million f#ck.

Could be looking better at Center now with that Cauley-Stein/Looney rotation. Triple double Dray will be back. Defense will suffer a bit but it'll be tough for most teams to handle the quickness and shooting of Steph/DeAngelo/Klay.

Gonna be really interesting to see how a big three of Steph/DeAngelo/Dray plays out. For all we know, our staff and Curry/Dray will push DeAngelo to another level. Everyone seems to be a assuming it'll be the same eastern borderline all star.
Carsen Edwards looks really good one of my draft favorites but pass on him for Jordan Poole .

Didn't like that one at all. But time will tell if Carsen becomes anything more than a Quinn cook. Or if Poole can get more consistent shooting.

I can see the warriors finishing with 40-50 wins

Yes, I agree. And I find myself actually looking forward to the Warriors not being the 'super villain' team that every team has in their cross hairs. They will be able to play free and easy next year, given the lower expectations. There is a certain freedom in being the hunter and not the hunted.
