2 mock drafts I saw had him going 2 or 6.
William Eklund, LW/C (Djurgården, SEL)
The only traits that the 2002 late birthday (Oct. 12) forward lacks are size and strength. A dominant player at J20 level for Djurgården, he moved up full-time to the SHL level in 2020-21 and established himself as both a high-upside offensive player as well as a smart and reliable two-way player.
Eklund is an above-average skater both in a straight line and cutting into the slot area. This year's Draft class does not have many players who are regarded as having potentially elite NHL offensive ceilings; Eklund is one of the few if he maxes his natural abilities. Eklund received the 2021 EJ McGuire Award of Excellent, honoring him among all of his Draft-eligible peers for outstanding character, competitiveness and athleticism.

I was told by some friends who follow hockey pretty close that DW was furiously trying to trade up to grab this kid and that several GMs had him #2 on their boards. So, it looks like we got a quality prospect, comps to Zetterberg

might be the best Wilson pick ever. We shall see, he probably won't be around by the time he's playing for us lol

Every mock I read had him gone by our 7th pick, so I think we got great value.

Wilson grabs a goalie with our next pick: Benjamin Gaudreau (Canada)
https://www.baytoday.ca/local-news/gaudreau-goes-to-the-sharks-3982625
Gaudreau, the #2 rated North American goaltender rated by North American Central Scouting, was the fourth goalie taken in the draft behind first rounders Sebastian Cossa (Red Wings), Jesper Wallstedt (Wild), and Aleksei Koloskov (Flyers).
While he was unable to take part in a regular hockey season in the OHL, the big netminder made the most of his playing time this May as he led Canada's U18 team to gold at the IIHF World Under-18 Hockey Championships. Gaudreau finished with a perfect 5 and 0 record with a 2.20 goals-against average and .919 save percentage at the tournament that took place in Texas. He was also named the tournament's top goaltender.

They used the entire 5 minute clock to make the selection. I think they were discussing trading the pick.

Martin Jones bought out. He's done with the sharks. Very happy to be moving on from him.

A veteran is likely going to be brought in. Makes sense.
