We knew this would be a throwaway year. I think next year we should expect to compete in a scrappy sense. My honest opinion. 2025 we better be in the playoffs.

I agree about being a scrappy team next season. Having watched the game last night, something mentioned in the broadcast. We lost league leading 30+ games last year when he had the lead entering the 3rd period.

lost last night in a blow out that we lead going into the 3rd again. Something is there, but just not 60 minutes worth. Hoping we can build something nice. It's hard to look at other teams success (knights, panthers, hell even kraken) and wonder what went wrong with our sharkies :(

Well…they never made playoffs after letting Pavelski go

hes been such an important player to the Stars. 1st line player, not only points but often clutch points, and a HUGE leader

He can't goaltend tho

which has been a significant issues for us for the past several years

Controversial opinion, but goalie performance is heavily influenced by team defensive structure

Vegas always can find a great goalie (such as Hill, who was on sharks) because their team plays excellent D.

or Colorado will plug in any goalie as well

Understandable for sure. Our defensive structure hasn't been the best either.

Great defenses can make average goalies look better, gone might be the days hall of famer backstops for Stanley cup teams. Just wish we had a goalie where I had some confidence an unobstructed shot from the point could be routinely saved.

While I do wish we kept Pavelski, I doubt the team would have gone anywhere with him on the team. Just too many gaps.
