The Erik Karlsson trade killed the team. Massive salary cap hit for 2 pure offensive Dmen (Burns and EK) while your lock down D (Vlasic and Braun) aged out.

Kane was a disaster personality, wasted a ton of capital

Glad they went with someone young and not a retread. Hopefully he's got some good leeway because it'll be another couple of years to build up the roster.
