Heard from a source close to the team that the #SJSharks have made a run at extending Joe Pavelski's NHL career. Whether it's an on or off ice role, unsure, but they'd like him to be a mentor to Macklin Celebrini.

Could be what this is about… I'm sure we'll find out more soon. https://t.co/N8GaC0mY6d
Would be great to see him, Joe, Marleau and others working with the next generation of Sharks.

Just like that. The #SJSharks have selected Igor Chernyshov with the first pick of the second round.

Tremendous value with their selections so far at the #2024NHLDraft https://t.co/jsIiMSG3AJ
Igor Chernyshov, who was No. 19 on my Top 100, goes to the Sharks with the first pick of the second round. Big haul so far for San Jose through their first three picks. #NHLDraft

Two minutes of Igor Chernyshov creating rush offence through anticipation, silky hands, abusing a speed advantage, working give-and-gos, smart delays, and winning body positioning.

Chernyshov is one of the best rush creators in the #2024NHLDraft. pic.twitter.com/THqw6SR0oU

While I questioned the Hertl move awhile back, Grier has seemingly done outstanding with pretty much everything else since then. I actually feel hope for us.

I really feel our depth in the minors is stronger than in a long long time.

I also feel we've added some quality vets. Excited to see how things look in the next 2-3 years.

Maybe we'll use those resources to get a goalie? I heard the guy from Nashville wants out.
