They were lucky they got out of period 2 and 3.
DeBoer's grand strategy was probably to keep it close in period 3 and take his chances 4v4 in overtime.

I know its 4 vs 4 during the regular season but are you sure its the same in sudden death playoffs?

Oh yeah. It's 5v5 in the playoffs. Well, at least they have a short break before OT.
I was trying to rationalize DeBoer's decisions.
I guess he'll just give them vague guidance like "score first" and "play together".
