Yea I was confused with what you were trying to say. Lol
Brisson is the only 1st round pick we have kept so far from the 2020 NHL draft, of course he could end up being traded. And we do currently have our 1st round pick for 2024. But no first round pick is safe with VGK.
I think it's smart. They are betting all in that trading/FA can build . Probably knowing players want to be in Vegas
Dallas stars GM took over our team after ownership went bankrupt. We had no good prospects other than Benn and Klingberg. GM made a ton of trades, we got competitive right away. Then he built through the draft once we were a winning culture
I bet Vegas starts to go that route after 1-3 more seasons. Trading aging pieces for picks/prospects to add to an already winning culture
losing cultures like Buffalo are so hard to change
The strategy has brought a winning culture to Vegas, even the cup. And it seems like most players are willing to waive their no trade clause to come to Vegas. But Vegas is struggling to win right now. I'm hoping they win enough games by the time Hertl can play, hopefully to help push them into playoffs. Eventually all this trading will come back to bite the Knights. But it's been worth it.
Stars have been playing well, close race for 1st place.
