After two years in Triple-A, Chris Shaw will start the season back with Double-A Richmond. Outfielders in Sacramento are Gerber, Garcia, Henry Ramos, Slater and Yastrzemski.

I don't really see it as a big deal. Rather him get playing time. They are trying Garcia in the OF, iirc.

A quick thought on Joe/Reed: They're basically same age as Duggar/Slater & both had an OPS well over .900 in high minors last year. If they had been drafted by Giants & played for River Cats last year, fans would have been screaming to see them in big leagues. Give this a chance.

I agree with Pav here. Farhan is about finding that hidden gem that people overlook. You have to give young players opportunities to be successful.
You can't do that if you have an aging Adam Jones or Hunter Pence or whomever taking up a spot. We need to find pieces to build on for the future.

You can't blame him for taking the most money but at the end of the day he's human and those Philly fans are gonna be ruthless and it'll get to him.
