Ooof that lineup looks depressing.

GO GIANTS!

Btw the "c" in Oracle Park wasnt lit on monday night so it was officially ORALE Park!
Even with a more than likely very rough season ahead of us, I'm really happy baseball is back.

Its all about money. CA taxes really put the Giants at a disadvantage.

If there was a salary cap, I would buy this.

The penalties for going over the tax are pretty significant, especially after 3 years. It also affects international bonus pool money. They keep going up each year, so you cant just ignore your spending and run out crazy payrolls every year.

The park dimensions might scare off short term hitters trying to built f/a value, but the longterm contract guys are just looking at money.

Exactly. Plus don't you lose draft picks too?
First at bat, let's hit Machado.
Game day!!! Hummm Baby
We may have our disagreements and differences but that is what I love most about this thread. There is more passion for this team in this thread than most of the entire forum. I'm looking forward to another hopefully, at the very least, interesting season. I hope we are all surprised by the end of it and we can send Boch out on a high note. Not necessarily a championship but at least a winning record.

Have a great season everyone, I look forward to enjoying and sharing this story with you all!
Happy New Year everyone!!
This season is gonna suck, but hopefully the guys can somehow make Boch's last run fun.

So seriously that is not the starting lineup rubber posted on the first page is it? Is it?!!
Primary goal this season: Get Bochy to finish the season above .500

Anything more is welcome.
