At the beginning of the year I thought there was no way Boch got to 2K. That crazy run leading up to the trading deadline is the only reason he got there.

Hall of Famer lock.

I thought we'd get there, but it would come down to the last series. They got there a bit early.

Agree with this. Thought there was no chance.

without the crazy run they wouldn't have got there so I'm not sure where you saw those extra wins coming from. The team lacked talent to start the year.

I bet under 73.5 wins on the season. Wish losing the bet resulted in a playoff berth rather than abysmal baseball for 5 out of 6 months. But that one month was really f**king fun. Most fun I have had watching in years.

It would take so long to guess what this athlete is doing lol

Looks like an Odell catch in the outfield but with your bare hand

I just saw the roster as being healthier than last year, and we won 73 in 2018. A one win improvement wasnt that tall of a task.

The roster you saw would never have gotten them over that win total. If not for Yaztremski, Pillar, and Dickerson this team doesnt get Bochy his 2000 wins or get over 70 in my opinion.

The goal for the rest of the season is to get to .500.

So the grandson of a Boston legend, a reliable OF, and a big Dick saved Bochy's managerial stats.

1000% agreed.

I predicted we'd get to 74 wins before Farhan made Michael Reed and Conner Joe starters. Obviously nobody could've known about all the changes, but I figured better health from the core in 2019 would be good enough for a 1 game improvement. As much as we benefited from the unlikely surges from guys like Yaz and Dickerson, we also made rebuilding moves like trading half our pen.

Unfortunately I think his compromise for keeping Bum, which was trading away key bullpen guys, probably cost us any legit chance at the WC spot. Our pen has been trash since the deadline, which has cost us more than a few wins.

I just thought the team had enough talent to improve by one game from an injury riddled 2018, specifically because the players weren't going to mail anything in when Bochy had a chance at 2000.

That and Dickerson's back injury didn't hold up.
