Yes. He will start the year in AA or AAA and get called up some time in May or whatever probably.

Thinks he hinted at it saying a manager at his second job could be a good fit because they learned from their mistakes.

also Kepler was in LAD front office when Z was there. 2014-2016

Raul Ibanez is a name that pops up that worked with Farhan in LA
If I had to bet on just one guy it would be Ibanez

That's my bet. And actually truth be told right now the one I'd want. He was a smart player. Solid baseball instincts. Seems like a mgr in the making.

What are you basing your desire to hire him on?

Not sure what "big name" means. Aside from Maddon, there aren't really any high end reputation guys available. I don't understand why you don't expect us to get interest from the best available guys.
That's not the guy I want since I prefer Ibanez but I won't be upset if Farhan hires him. There will be interest because the giants job is one of the best in the league but I think farhan is going with a first time guy he knows especially for a team rebuilding

Sweet. Sounds like he'll be on the major league roster sooner than later. Depending what happens with Posey anyways.

Whenever the date is the give us an extra year of eligibility. Although, that may not matter with the upcoming CBA negotiations in 2021, I'm sure there will be some changes in regard to Arbitration and years of team control over players.

I originally thought that, but Farhan has since said he's looking for experience.

I wouldnt necessarily count on what Garce just said about a callup sometime in May or whatever. Could just as well spend the majority of the season in the minors.

True, that's fine if they dont rush him. But it kinda sounds like he is going through a Lincecum in the minors-like pace

Ramos, yes. Bart? I doubt it.

Theres no reason to rush Bart. He is more likely to get a September call up than a May call up. Not being in a playoff race, its better to keep developing him where hed start everyday in the minors. Plus you want to delay his arbitration clock as long as possible.

I agree. Unless the plan is to play Bart 4 or 5 days a week it makes much more sense to give him a lot of at bats in AAA ball. I dont see Bart or Ramos on the big team before next September unless they get crazy hot or there are injuries.
