Poor Royals

Might be their best shot. A bit of a red flag that Grifol didn't get the job from his own team, but maybe the current team had tuned out the Yost staff.

For a small market team at the bottom of the league, Matheny looking to rebound is actually a good flier for KC. I doubt it works out, but KC obviously prioritized experience.

Matheny is a terrible manager and couldnt be a worse fit for a team that is rebuilding.

Not saying it was a good hire, but hes a higher profile name with experience, and that's clearly what they wanted. Nobody else with those attributes would've wanted that job.
After running into some roadblocks with other candidates, the Diamondbacks have settled upon Matt Herges as their next pitching coach, per Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic. Herges will join the staff of skipper Torey Lovullo after a pair of seasons as the Giants' bullpen coach. The former MLB hurler replaces Mike Butcher in guiding the Arizona pitching staff.

I guess Kotsay is out?

I still think the choice will be Kapler.

I'm thinking Espada
I will go with Espada as well

I was doing some searching on him, and he's a well respected guy. I also think these days being bilingual is huge. It makes those guys feel a lot more comfortable. He has a nice resume working with the Astros and Yankees as of late. He's grasped the analytical world and has been able to mix it in with the old school sort of mindset. I was reading how in touch he is with analytics and using them in practices and training. There is this story how he helped the infield with shifts and understanding the strategy of the shift for specific players. He was able to use analytics to help improve its algorithms and then communicate the plan to the players.

Bregman credited him solely with helping him play SS this year, saying he learned so much that he's never learned. As well as Altuve and Correa both super supportive of him.

Guy seems like he's adapted quickly to the new era. Granted he doesn't have the HC experience, but he's been a Bench Coach, Third Base Coach, infield mgr. I mean I like the pedigree here vs a Kapler.

I'm sold!!! He seems like a fun guy too, whereas Kapler seems like's he's just pissed off all the time about something.

He was like 90% sure Stanton was picking SF, and 90% sure Harper was picking SF. Being wrong is kind of his thing.

But regardless, the Giants are the team of the decade.
