I think Posey has 2 years left in his career regardless. He will play out the final 2 seasons of his contract, and his team option will be declined in 2022. Maybe he signs a cheap one year deal with SF that season if they think hes got a little left, but when the Giants don't have a spot for him anymore, he's going to retire. The comments he made a few months back have me convinced that he's going the Matt Cain route.

Fine with me.

i cant think of a rule change I would hate more in baseball than adding the DH.

I hate the DH also....but the proposed ending games in ties and starting extras with a runner on 2nd are rules I hate more.

And with rule changes, I couldnt care less if it helped our team and one of our players. If its bad for the league, it's bad for the league. Potentially getting a year or two more of Posey does not trump it being a negative for the rest of time.

That rocket arm is a perfect fit in rf though. I have no faith in slater, I think his time is up

this. I posted this before and it would need to be updated but

Scoring
AL 4.5 runs
NL 4.4 runs Average

HRs.
AL 1.1
NL 0.9

But here is a perfect example of how the game is played differently.

National League 811 Sacrifice Hits (Bunts) 517 Sacrifice Flies 496 Intentional Walks

American League 364 Sacrifice Hits (Bunts) 479 Sacrifice Flies 326 Intentional Walks

A vote for the DH to increase by .1 runs a game but sacrificing all those bunts, sac flies and intentional walks is a travesty. Only a potato fan would support.

Wait, have those two things been approved for this 60 game season??

Yes.
Billy Hamilton just made the team. He's gonna be used exclusively as the extra innings runner

Wow ending a game in a tie is so dumb.

Slater has a better arm than some who have played in RF before. Like Pence.

Pence was decent when he first came over, I'm not sure what happened

Id rather have a gimmick mini HR derby to settle games than leave it as a tie.

You just described soccer. Penalty kicks = homerun derby
