Wait, have those two things been approved for this 60 game season??

Yes.

Wow ending a game in a tie is so dumb.

Right, this ain't damn soccer

Id rather have a gimmick mini HR derby to settle games than leave it as a tie.

You just described soccer. Penalty kicks = homerun derby

I was more referencing hockey with the shootout. I cant stand any of it, but if its already going to be an exhibition, might as well make it entertaining. Tie games are the worst.
Please don't tell me those 2 rule changes are permanent after this season

I think it's through 2021. Could be wrong.

Hopefully after that it goes back to normal.

I doubt it. New CBA next year, I bet it sticks. It's been a long time coming. As much as I don't like it, I see a lot of benefits. Getting younger guys more opportunities, extending careers (Buster) and keeping our pitchers out of harm's way.

Billy Hamilton just made the team. He's gonna be used exclusively as the extra innings runner

I'm assuming he can't pinch run earlier in the game. So it'll be interesting how we use him. Like if posey hit a double in the 9th, do we put Hamilton there or do we save him in case of extra innings to have him on with no outs

Yeah, it's only through '21. But, there's a good chance it stays.

I'm specifically talking about the starting with a runner on 2nd in extra innings rule. I don't fully understand it all though because someone mentioned games ending in a tie. How would there be extra innings at all then? Or is the rule that if the game is still tied after 10 innings, it ends in a tie?

I don't think the runner on second base in extra innings will stick, but the DH is here to stay.

I have a feeling we will not be talking about Belt this season.

Interesting.
-You forgot RF man.
-I don't think Bart will be up.
-If it's against MadBum I want Panda as the DH

I'm all for the DH, all the sudden buster doesn't have to catch nearly as much, if at all and probably will extend his career

he's all for it
