Bum pitched well. All that matters.

A win matters but whatever lol

I'm far more concerned about Bum pitching well and upping his trade value.

You shouldn't be cheering for us to trade our 29 year old ace who happens to be one of the greatest postseason pitchers ever. Especially since Farhan is going to trade him for a couple guys like Connor Joe and Michael Reed.

Any big prospects coming out of HS or college?

Some good College prospects.

An interesting Pitcher to watch will be Carter Stewart. Braces selected him #8 overall but he didn't sign. Some concerns about recovery from a wrist injury but if healthy he will be a top pick for sure.

You also have Bobby Witt's son who I'm sure will be near the top too.
WE GOT SHUT OUT?????

OH MY GOD!!!!

Joe is a Rule 5 guy and Reed is a waiver pickup. MadBum would be worth a good bit more than that.

Obviously I was being sarcastic, but I dont think Bum is going to get the type of return that hes worth. Hes worth an enormous amount to the franchise on multiple levels. Letting him go would be a huge mistake, and the same type of misguided approach that causes the A's to be in a constant rebuild mode.

To lose a 29 year old ace with his postseason reputation, a guy who you KNOW can win you a title on his own, you better be getting a massive haul of cant-miss guys. I just dont see that happening. Whoever we get isn't going to be worth losing him.
Chris Shaw at AA Richmond instead of AAA Sacramento. Wouldn't be shocked if they deal him this year for another team's prospect.

I don't see any way he's on this roster past the trade deadline. Same goes for Will Smith.

That's likely where its headed. I just think its an enormous mistake. The odds that we hit on one or more of the prospects in the return, who end up being of more value to the big league club than Bum, are pretty unlikely.
It's doubtful that they will give him a huge contract for $150 million + and would that be wise after Cain and Timmy?

Some college position players who could possibly be in play at 10:

Hunter Bishop, OF Arizona State
Bryson Stott, SS, UNLV
Kameron Misner, OF/1B, Mizzou
JJ Bleday, OF, Vandy (Zaidi loves Vandy players)
Braden Shewmake, SS, Texas A&M
Will Wilson, SS, NC State
Michael Busch, 1B North Carolina
Josh Jung 3B Texas Tech
Logan Davidson SS Clemson

Andrew Vaughn 1B Cal and Adley Rutschman (C, Oregon State) aren't worth discussing for us because neither will make it down.

Was anyone else surprised with Belts 9th inning at bat?

He wouldn't get 150 mil, and both Lincecum and Cain had specific reasons why they didn't last longterm. Lincecum's mechanics relied on gymnist level flexibility to get the torque for his velocity. Once he got into his late 20's his body wasn't able to perform the delivery. Cain just had some of the straightest stuff youll see. Once his velocity started to dip with age, he was BP.

All Bumgarner's stuff has movement, and hes built to last, both with his body type, and his arm angle. He would absolutely be worth a 5/100 type contract.

The Giants paid EVERYONE. Its a crying shame that Bum is going to be the one left out, especially after all he did for such a bargain price all these years.
Corbin got 6/$140 million so I wouldn't rule it out. It is ashame, but that was the previous regime and with the way things are he's the best chance to get something big back.

Pretty bad when MadBum already has a hit before most of the lineup.
