Well what? What you said came out of left field and isn't the same conversation or argument. There's nothing to say.
If a team can trade a player and not honor the contract they signed with him then players can demand trades too. Kerr is the guy that traded a beloved Marion for a washed up Shaq and then traded Shaq a year later. He sounds like a bitter old failed GM.
Lol what? All of a sudden, youre acting as if trades have not been accepted as a way of doing business not only in the NBA but other professional leagues.
The advantage of NBA contracts for players is that they for the most part are guaranteed, are they not?
So a player can demand the lifelong financial security off a multi year guaranteed contract AND demand a trade at any time? Why would any team or league agree to that as a matter of common practice? I'm speculating that it cannot be both. If players want the right of mobility at any time, then one practical way to enable that is one year or very short term contracts. Cant have both.
The AD trade (and PG13) were shocking, exciting, and exhilarating as it played out, but we already know they caused serious angst and discussion in the team owners meetings. I dont know why people would find Steve Kerrs comments all that surprising.
