People will hate...

Maybe one day the Clippers take over LA, but that wont happen with this generation at least. He would be so much smarter moving that team.

Still waiting for the first confessed Clipper fan to show up here. Theres got to be some 15 year old outt there

Ya its gonna be a while until they have a legit fan base.

Yeah, that's why I said that in the very next sentence that you cut out.

I just don't see any major issues for the Clippers. Historically they've done poorly in that market but the vast majority of their history in LA they were a joke franchise owned by Donald Sterling. There was no competition.

Now they have Jerry West with a blank check running things. No I don't think they will overtake the Lakers but they have plenty of room for growth with the talent on that roster now and what I imagine will be new state of the art facilities in the near future.

The biggest factor in a team's success IMO is having the right ownership. The Clippers now have a guy with the deepest of pockets who is willing to spend like a drunken teen debutante with her dad's credit card to build a winning organization.

They win and they'll have a fanbase. It's LA. They are a superficial city and support winners in order to be seen.

Plenty of hipsters, edgelords and outright bandwagoneers out there who will be happy to throw on Clippers gear to set themselves apart.

Ballmer putting his mark all over LA too.

Lol Ballmer
Lol the Clippers. PHX you're on one man. I'm sure with a new owner and a flashy new stadium Mets would take over the Yankees in no time.

Who said anything about take over? LA is massive and the Clippers have been a brightly burning dumpster for most of their existence. Now they are on the come up. Plenty of room for two teams to thrive in that city.

I really think they can do good here, but not great. Anybody whos 20 or older would have to die first until the Clippers can have a big fan base. They are at least a generation away. But they are doing big things. Balmer might be my favorite owner in all of sports.

Sterling blew it by not moving the Clippers to The Pond in Anaheim (now called The Honda Center) in the mid 90s. Orange County loves the Clippers and sold out every preseason game there. it also made sense to have a Clipper on a body of water. they could've made a new logo with a ship not unlike the Buccaneers logo.

Ah fond memories of going to college down there and being a kings fan. At that time both the kings and lakers were title contenders and the clippers were up and comers with the likes of Darius Miles, Q Richardson, Dooling, Olowokandi etc . Lol that never materialized

Kings over seems like a lock. But the kings are cursed so tough to bet on them.

Rockets over for sure. Westbrook and Harden are regular season heroes, 2nd round exit bound.

Wolves under. Just as a rule
I think I will be putting some money on the Kings if that number doesnt change. I dont know about Houston. So many good teams in the West that over 52 for them doesnt seem like a sure thing to me. Also like the under on Dallas with 41. I just cant see them at .500 in the West.

Being the "B" team in LA is still going to be more profitable than going somewhere like Seattle.
Without question. I also do not think the Clippers will have any problem filling a beautiful new arena as long as they have one of the best teams in the league. Balmer is a very smart guy. He knows that being in the LA market is just so much better than being elsewhere.

Is it still 35.5? I agree, but can't bring myself to bet the over . I've been known to jinx things when I bet

I need a visual map image of this possible Clipper fan base.

So frontrunners, rich white beach oceanfront people, - 1/3 of males under 14 - Clipper fans

Regular schmoes, working class, 90% of Los Angelenos and most anybody over 21 - Laker fans

Blazers won 49 and 53 games the last two years.
