Orange County loves the Clippers and sold out every preseason game there. it also made sense to have a Clipper on a body of water. they could've made a new logo with a ship not unlike the Buccaneers logo.

I need a visual map image of this possible Clipper fan base.

So frontrunners, rich white beach oceanfront people, - 1/3 of males under 14 - Clipper fans

Regular schmoes, working class, 90% of Los Angelenos and most anybody over 21 - Laker fans

You know LA is a big city with a lot of very wealthy people who want to be seen right? You know the city can easily support two teams right?

You know the Clips had a better attendance average than the Lakers when they had stars (Paul, Griffin)? They had over 100% for six straight seasons from 2012-2017, beat the Lakers in those seasons and we're top 10 in the NBA each time too.

Your take goes directly against what history tells us. LA will support the Clips greatly if they are winning.

You got a link to these stats? Some of this stuff seems kinda far fetched.

He is correct.

http://www.espn.com/nba/attendance/_/year/2012 (you can change the year to verify but 12-17 Clippers were ahead)

And just barely. Lakers were not good during those years and still almost out sold them lol.

If we are just talking about packing arenas, sure, its 20k that fit in that building, you can get 20k ppl in LA everynight that will go to a game. But can they take over the city, or even close to that. Are the day time and late time talk shows gonna start talking clippers. Clippers radio shows? Their own channel? Are ppl gonna be walking down the streets in clippers gear? What about other cities, or even other countries? People purchase Lakers gear in Lithuania. That aint happening anytime soon with the Clippers.

They out sold the stadium capacity lol. Just barely

Now you are changing the argument. No one has said they will take over LA. It's been said repeatedly that LA is big enough to support two teams.

Yea that's an interesting time you chose right there 12-17 when Kobe tore his Achilles and we were a perennial doormat. In La, when you have the choice to buy a seat for $100 to a playoff bound clipper game or a $300 ticket for a lottery team laker and take your kids, bring a date to a game as a casual fan (who usually fills regular season seats) or someone that wants to see a live sport, you're going to choose clippers . So your data may be very convincing Looking at stas, but try and think a little deeper into it.

There's a very good reason I showed those years. He was arguing that the Clippers can't get support after I said they would if they started winning. The Clips look to be great again and I showed him that they indeed get great support as long as they win because LA is a superficial sports city ... Like I said previously.

I never argued the Clippers can't get support lmao. I said they wont surpass the Lakers anytime soon, and the Clippers will be the B team for quite somentime, just like they've been. It took a torn achilies and the Lakers to be a lottery team for many years for the Clippers to barely outsell them.

Clippers can win some rings in the next 10 years, and Balmers name still wont trump Buss's name in that city, and neither will the the Clippers. They would have to go on a generational long run. They are 60 years behind in term of history and a fan base that cares.

That part applies to ninerjohns post as well. He can be a god if he bring a couple championships to a place like Seatle, but not in LA.

Clippers can win in LA, they can make good money, but they wont surpass the Lakers anytime soon, even if Balmer thinks they can and he tries to prove it.

Watching the 2016 dunk contest.

Lavine vs Gordon was fun to watch.
I want Ballmer to buy the 49ers.

The Clippers' proposed new home would come complete with corporate headquarters, a team training facility designed down to the detail of how many paces it takes a player to walk from the parking lot to the locker room to the home bench, a sports medicine clinic, community courts, and an area with a giant big screen for fans to watch games outside, a la Toronto's Jurassic Park -- all located on 26 acres in Inglewood, California.

It will have to overcome the hurdle of a lawsuit filed by Madison Square Garden, which owns The Forum in Inglewood, but Ballmer is confident that the project -- which will be privately financed -- will get built.

Clippers owner Steve Ballmer plans to have a state-of-the-art, 18,500-seat arena built in Inglewood, California, by 2024.

The new basketball palace will have some diamond-shaped metal -- including solar panels -- on top of a building designed to look like a basketball with the Clippers' logo going through a net. Ballmer visited 13 to 15 NBA arenas and facilities, including those of Milwaukee, Detroit, Indiana, Charlotte, Utah, Portland, Dallas and San Antonio, as well as the University of Oregon, in hopes of finding inspiration for what he wants his arena to look and feel like.

"I want it to be beautiful," Ballmer told ESPN. "But I want it to be about basketball. I want it to be comfortable. But I want it to be about basketball."

"Being in L.A., the free-agency thing will always be a little more important to us," Ballmer later added. "That means we got to invest in the players' experience."

Well, technically he built that legacy with a silver spoon mentality. Just throw ridiculous money at it. The league basically adopted the salary cap because of Eddie D. I love the man, but his success can be attributed to silver spoon money and some good luck in Walsh and Montana leading the way.

Nice, you call LA a superficial sports city when the link provided shows the Lakers were top 10 in attendance as a bottom 3 team. Any other knowledge you'd like to bless us with? Thx in advance...

LA is more than the Lakers. USC attendance disappears unless they are contenders, UCLA too, Clippers saw a good drop once they were no longer great ... This isn't a groundbreaking idea. It's a widely held belief I've heard my entire life.
