You're overthinking it. Nobody in their right mind is gonna say 1990 wasn't the beginning of the 90s decade, or rather that it was the last year of the 80s, which sounds even more ridiculous.

It's August...and we are discussing calendars.

We are debating that there is difference between end of 1900s and end of 20th century. 1900s ended in Y2K but 20th century (or the 2nd millennium) didn't end till the calendar turned 2001. This is very important.

Just like, 90s decade started in 1990 and ended in 1999 but the 10th decade of 20th century in fact started in 1991 and ended in 2000.

Is it reeeeeally though? The decade is 2010-2019. Like every other decade since the beginning of recorded time (0-9).

Its a subject that should have ended as soon as you first responded to him. The fact he is arguing is absurd.
