I think Raptors are still favorites but Lakers with some momentum. I'll be very surprised if he goes to Clippers. Imo it should be between Raptors and Lakers.

Btw...Magic knows Uncle Dennis very well.

I also read somewhere that Uncle Dennis really respects and admire Magic and the empire he built. Not sure if this part is true or not.

Magic could pitch him about how he can take his brand to another level if he's with the Lakers.

Ya they said on espn that Kawhi wants Magic there, him and his uncle are good friends i gueas.

I think Kawhi is coming to the Lakers. He even has a daughter now and his girlfriend in southern CA. He is from Riverside, grew up a Lakers fan, went to San Diego State, owns a mansion in San Diego, has family and friends all over southern CA. I just can't imagine him wanting to stay in Toronto long term. If he does that it's likely for just 1 or 2 years. I can't see a 5 year deal in Toronto. What do the Clippers have more so than the Lakers to offer now that the Lakers cleared another max slot? Nothing at all. That would be an incredible team. He grew up a Lakers fan. It's like a childhood dream.

He wants to talk to Magic probably to gauge if there is dysfunction within the organization. Rob Pelinka played for Coach Steve Fischer when they had a Fab 5 at Michigan. Steve Fischer of course later coached the San Diego State Aztecs and Kawhi Leonard. Pelinka and Fischer remain close and talk according to reports. Also Kawhi is known to be close to Steve Fischer still and they still talk. He is very supportive of San Diego State Athletics. I'm sure he has asked about Pelinka. If he did I'm sure Fischer would say really great things as he likes Pelinka. It's my understanding that Kawhi values his College coaches advice and they still talk.

Now that they cleared a max slot if they offer it to him I would bet he gives very strong consideration to the Lakers. In fact they may even be the favorite. I can't see him staying in Toronto long term. What do the Cippers offer more than this? The Pelinka and Fischer connection is good. The Fischer and Kawhi connection is good also. I would not at all be surprised to see Kawhi sign with the Lakers. But we will see.

When you have the chance to play with Lebron James on a max salary in LA and AD took a pay cut to get you it is almost a no brainer!

I really hope he comes to the Lakers.
