Collison retired

Would have been a good fit.

Just saw this. WOW! Congratulations to him.

I think Kawhi is coming to the Lakers. He even has a daughter now and his girlfriend in southern CA. He is from Riverside, grew up a Lakers fan, went to San Diego State, owns a mansion in San Diego, has family and friends all over southern CA. I just can't imagine him wanting to stay in Toronto long term. If he does that it's likely for just 1 or 2 years. I can't see a 5 year deal in Toronto. What do the Clippers have more so than the Lakers to offer now that the Lakers cleared another max slot? Nothing at all. That would be an incredible team. He grew up a Lakers fan. It's like a childhood dream.

He wants to talk to Magic probably to gauge if there is dysfunction within the organization. Rob Pelinka played for Coach Steve Fischer when they had a Fab 5 at Michigan. Steve Fischer of course later coached the San Diego State Aztecs and Kawhi Leonard. Pelinka and Fischer remain close and talk according to reports. Also Kawhi is known to be close to Steve Fischer still and they still talk. He is very supportive of San Diego State Athletics. I'm sure he has asked about Pelinka. If he did I'm sure Fischer would say really great things as he likes Pelinka. It's my understanding that Kawhi values his College coaches advice and they still talk.

Now that they cleared a max slot if they offer it to him I would bet he gives very strong consideration to the Lakers. In fact they may even be the favorite. I can't see him staying in Toronto long term. What do the Cippers offer more than this? The Pelinka and Fischer connection is good. The Fischer and Kawhi connection is good also. I would not at all be surprised to see Kawhi sign with the Lakers. But we will see.

Kawhi was a 76er fan. All of his friends and family were Lakers fans, but he was a huge Allen Iverson fan. Half the NBA is Kobe/Lakers fans and we haven't landed a big FA in years, so even if Kawhi was a Laker fan I wouldn't put much stock in it.

Haha yes. I put a small asterisk on that guy. I'm saying a guy in his prime, wanting to come to Lakers. Not a guy dead end of his career focused on making movies and expanding brand in 70 months. If you catch my drift

He was traded but very likely would have come in free agency the next year when he was eligible if he could. He made it clear that he very much wanted to be here. It was his team and city of choice. He is in his prime.

LeBron is about as dead end as Steph Curry right about now except he never gets hurt during playoff time. Dude is going to be balling the next five years
You guys can't even draft your nucleus. You guy will flop. Go, Kings, Go!

Superstars win chips. Don't matter whether you draft em or get em through FA. That's why Lakers have 16 chips

I know. You're right. But only the 4mls of the world will like this chip. The real laker fans won't be fully satisfied. Gotta draft some of the guys and have real Lakers (magic, Kobe, worthy, etc.)

Shaq played for the Lakers for a while. Other FAs as well. This is a joke. I think you'll flop like when you hired Gary Payton and Karl Malone. We'll see. Kings coming for that ass

The best kings got their talent via trades and free agency. Weber, bibby, divac. If you just depend on drafting you're screwed like 20 years no playoffs.
