Jalen Rose just said 99% Kawhi is staying in Toronto!

Not sure how much the 2 year deal is, but sounds a little risky! Demarcus Cousin went from top of the free agent list to can't even get on a team.
Lakers beat the kings today in the Cali league. LA was down 9 with just over 2 minutes to go and started raining 3's on them. Norvell jr hit the game winner with 4 seconds left.

Norvell Jr. might be a sleeper!
What is this nonsense? Kawhi sign with Toronto for 2 years and then get a bigger super max later. If he wants that why not just sign a 2 year deal with the Lakers. Or a long term deal with an opt out after 2 years with the Lakers. Don't go back to Toronto.....

he just bought a house in Southern California and went to SDSU. How could this be ?!

Both of those are true. You can't say they are not. Also all the media reports for days now have been Lakers, Lakers, Lakers. Until now. Until today. It makes no sense IMO. If he wants a 2 year deal or an opt out after 2 years the Lakers can give that to him also. Give him deal he wants and sign him again in 2 years if that's what he wants. Why is this so hard for the Lakers? They can do this too.

Playing in Toronto just makes no sense compared to playing in Los Angeles. But I guess Kawhi has to do what he has to do. He must do what is best for him and his family. It just surprises me if it is true. At least somewhat anyway.
He ain't signing with the lakers if he was he already would have. Dude is being a b***h he should just stay in Toronto.

I could see him going back to Toronto for 2 years and riding this wave they're on. It wouldn't be a bad decision.

But I've said all along, I'm not gonna believe he's coming to the Lakers until he actually says it. Otherwise it's all just talk and bullish!t.

They have a good team and he is enjoying his time there and obviously they just won. So maybe he looks at it and thinks they can win 1 more in the next 2 years or whatever. He may not be wrong. I just see southern CA being a better fit for him. He grew up in the area, has family, friends, his girlfriend, his daughter, his University athletics programs which he supports all here. I just can't see him being more happy as a person in Toronto for a variety of reasons. Not more happy than southern CA which is the perfect fit for him.

It's all speculation on all sides. Didn't Jalen Rose speculate other things that turned out to not be true? IDK what to think? I hope he lands with the Lakers. But Kawhi has always been different. Nobody knows what he is thinking. It was like that at San Diego State too.

If he wants a 2 year deal or an opt out after 2 years why don't the Lakers offer him that too? Match what Toronto is offering on the 2 years. They could potentially win one or both of those years if they bring him on board. You have to be flexible for a guy like Kawhi Leonard. Just give him the deal he wants. Whatever it is.

Kawhi never won back to back titles with San Antonio and he has a chance to do that it Toronto. I think he stays and gives that a shot. In a year he leaves and signs with the Clippers and gets back to Southern California. I could be completely wrong obviously but I have just never thought he wanted to be part of the circus that would take place if he joined AD and Lebron.

Well that part can't be true since he's seriously considering Lakers also.
