It's July - August...and ppl need something to talk about on their shows. Baseball is in mid-season of 162 game season, football is still a few weeks away and NBA FA is over.

It's ironic that tv personalities that are saying that he's doing this for attention are actually the ones craving attention. That take from Whitlock was strictly to get the ratings up.

And viewers are suckers who buy into these ridiculous narratives.

It's summertime in Laker land. Not so long ago we had to deal with hot takes like "Now Lebron isn't coming to LA!" When Luzma and lonzo were battle rapping...(from cowherd). I'll take the b***hing bc Lebron dancing at his sons bball game all day compared to what we are used to.

I understand that Laker fans and James lovers could see it in a positive way. Just know that many fans outside that group see it differently, especially given his long history of self centered behavior.

I thought it was annoying. Like most of what Lebron does. He's kind of annoying, my mind hasn't changed on that just bc he's a laker. The uproar and attention it's gotten is absolutely ridiculous though.

And its not just Laker fans seeing this in a positive way. You had a couple media personalities who tried making this into a big deal and it got laughed at and mocked by basically everbody else in the media. Most people had no issue with this, and based on the texts from the kids who were there, they had a great time.

Im not sure how you can possibly think otherwise besides trying to come in here with the same terrible Skip Bayless take. And then you try to say most people think this way...LOL.

I like it though...even Griffin's comments (even though he's starting to walk them back a little). Lebron needs this. Can't wait for October.

I have a few close relatives that went pro. Most were older than me but I can tell you that the pros do it to give back and to kid around and it has absolutely nothing to do with old men and how they're feeling about it. We are old men. Those are kids and I know for a fact that they enjoyed every minute of one of their idols kidding around with them on the court.

I used to be those kids and those moments are priceless and they have nothing to do with 42 year old me nor most of you. LeBron didn't need to dunk at a kids game for attention. He could have made amends with Donald Trump and went to the white house and did it if that was his aim.

Folk need to find something serious to harp on like all these Hollywood sex offenders and child molesters and sex traffickers. Not a pro athlete giving time to the kids. SMH
