They signed Harry Maguire for the biggest transfer fee ever for a defender. They payed more for him than Barca did with De Ligt

De Ligt to Juve and De Jong to Barca were great signings by both clubs. I honestly don't know who is making decisions for ManU. If I were them - I'd sell Pogba back to Juve. He's not the right player for them.

I'm really excited about what Barca has done this summer. I do think they should sell Coutinho. With Messi, Suarez, Dembele, and Griezmann - Coutinho is a super expensive bench player. Don't need him and would like them to give some youngsters a few games against weaker opposition. There are couple really good attacking players but they need to be given opportunities.

Definitely want to see De Jong and Arthur Melo start together in midfield in most games. I think they could be poorer version of Xavi and Iniesta.

Still haven't been able to find a player who will eventually replace Busquets. He's near the end.

Bayern wants Sane from Man City. City wants a ton of money. Bayern hesitate. City play Sane in a meaningless game to try to jack the price up by showing him off. Sane blows ACL.

Morons. Bayern will get him for half the price next summer.

Looking forward to the premier league being back even though I care more about the championship at present

It's a shame they promo's aren't as good as they were when I was a kid in the 90's

I'm excited about DeJong.... funny you mention a replacement for Busquets. DeJong is playing in Busquets position in the 1st half against Napoli today.

Not sure what his best position will be now in Barca. Like you, I thought he would be Iniesta to Arthur's Xavi. They haven't played together yet that I've seen.

Their defense is going to be the strength of the team. Wan-Bissaka was a huge difference-maker. He completely shuts down the right side.

Throw in the best goalie in the world and it will definitely be a strength. In January we will need to sign another striker. But promising start to the season

Yea, saw that game on dvr. Not very closely but yes De Jong played deeper than I expected. Thing is - he can play any position in midfield and be elite at it. He's big and strong enough to be at Busquets position. I'm so excited about him. I think he has potential to be one of the best signings for Barca.

Btw...lot of talk of Neymar to Madrid. I personally think he is a perfect Madrid player but if Barca is able to swap Coutinho plus cash for Neymar - I'd be more than ok with it bc Coutinho has been a joke at Barca. But, if Barca get Neymar (even though he will never be on the lvl of Messi or Ronaldo) - this Barca squad will be the most ridiculously talented roster ever constructed - especially in attack.
