Now, that's never going to happen.

thats why i said it wont. would be awesome though.

There is a $828 Million release clause. It's hard to see it happening.

Lionel Messi comes in at fifth with a £592.5 million release clause that he more than deserves in all truth.

However, he's more likely to leave on a free due to the six-time Ballon d'Or winner having a special clause in his Barca contract that allows him to terminate his deal at the end of every season - something both Andres Iniesta and Carles Puyol had the option to do during their time at the Nou Camp.

I would hate to see him leave Barca. He is the definition of Barcelona and carried them single handedly for the last three years. But as for the release clause, I think ManCity would be the one team that could afford to pay for him, because of all the Emirati money.

I'm curious where he see's himself at this stage of his career. A lot of all time greats at his age used to just chase the money and sign with any competitive club that still pays them a decent amount.

wow
well good for Messi. KDB and Messi should make for a great pairing.
The futbol universe has shifted.

He hasn't gone anywhere yet. I don't believe he is leaving Barca.

I think he will. Barca has been soooo awful with their signings - and not just for players but for also managers. They've wasted at 3 years of near-peak Messi. Messi isn't going to waste these next couple years.

ManCity makes a lot of sense.

Lol, i just heard Dan Dibly from 95.7 saying that if Messi goes to Man City he couldn't crack the starting lineup. The greatest player in world couldn't start. SMH

That's who he personally wants to go to, they still gotta work out a deal of some kind to get him out of Barca (the alleged "free transfer" clause) and settle on new contract terms (if this is true)

It has to be a deal like Ronaldo's or better for Barca to let him go, something excess of $100 million. IMO

Barca might not have a choice though if that release clause is able to be triggered
