Lebron is clearly implying that Morey shouldn't haven't tweeted while two teams were flying to China. He didn't word it properly and that's on him, but it seems like he was concerned about his safety and that of other players and coaches. It seems obvious that he was saying Morey didn't understood the ramifications of his tweet for the players who were being hosted by the same regime he's criticizing. He even tweeted that Morey could have tweeted the same thing a week later once the teams were back on American soil.

Its so sad that LeBron and a few dozen highly privileged millionaires were inconvenienced for a few days by Morey speaking out in support of human rights. I do hope that they can find the support they need to work past this traumatic experience. No one will be able to understand the pain they feel.

I hope LeBron's ego can be soothed now that he is safely inside US borders where he can further propagate Chinese propaganda in comfort. Today is Taco Tuesday, so there's that I guess. May the healing begin.
Originally posted by 4ML:And, Lebron didn't propagate any Chinese propaganda. He has clearly stated that he's not saying anything critical of the substance of Morey's tweet but only the timing of it.
Morey literally was thinking about others. He was thinking about the people of Hong Kong, who want the same freedoms Americans take for granted. It's mind-boggling that LeBron would actually tell someone else, "Shut up and (GM equivalent of dribble)." https://t.co/4RxnPDjWKa

Sucks what Kanter has to go thru but he was born in Turkey and is fighting for freedoms for his motherland - from USA. China is not Lebron's country

Lol, when your statement can be read back on Chinese state news verbatim, you dun goofed. He pretty much told Morey to "shut up and GM" and made the same sorts of comments denigrating free speech that have been coming from the CCP for a week now.

LeBron just addressed the team's trip to China, including saying he felt Daryl Morey was misinformed. He later clarified he meant "misinformed" of the ramifications of such a comment as opposed to the issue of Hong Kong's sovereignty.

Morey: I was merely voicing one thought, based on one interpretation, of one complicated event. I have had a lot of opportunity since that tweet to hear and consider other perspectives.

LeBron: Morey should have thought about this more
Internet: OMG LEBRON IS A COMMIE

...and Lebron wasn't even saying Morey was misinformed on the issue but on how his tweet could put players in danger who were flying to China while he was tweeting this.
lol fake outrage is obviously fake

You keep calling it fake outrage without realizing that some people actually do care about the subject, even though you obviously don't.
All I see you doing is trying to defend your idol who got down on his knees, groveling for that sweet yuan in the process. It wasn't a good look for a guy who kept talking up speaking out against injustice and when Morey did just that, he turned on him because now it was hitting HIS bottomline so I guess that is really extent of his belief in justice.
So for that money he happily regurgitated CCP talking points. Dude's a hypocrite, regardless of how you feel about the subject.
Originally posted by 4ML:Well, I defended Kerr too and he's not my idol. I know it's a fake outrage bc certain ppl have been systematically going after Kerr, Pop, and Lebron and none of them were talking about Hong Kong before that. I know this is fake outrage bc China has been doing this for decades...and no one said anything bc we were getting cheap Chinese made products in Walmart. Plz...this is not new.
And btw...

Donald Trump reportedly told China's president he would remain quiet on protests in Hong Kong as trade talks between Washington and Beijing progressed.

Lol at defending a guy who was born here, received all the opportunity to become a successful mega-star, encouraged people to speak out against injustice and then ripped into a member of his same industry, siding against them with an authoritarian foreign government that is currently threatening to violently put down a pro-democracy movement in a territory that they had promised to basically leave the hell alone for the forseeable future.
To me that is mind-boggling, not sure how anyone could possibly defend that but you do you.
