I should get over it too.

I think Mavs are gonna be decent too. West is gonna be brutal this year. East is gonna be between Sixers and Bucks imho - with Indiana once again being super underrated.

Depends on the unicorn... if he comes back to form, damn. He is a question mark though.

Looks all right in pre-season. Still rusty and doesn't look like he has the same explosiveness but that'll come as he plays more games. Hasn't played in year and a half. But, has looked all right so far.

Pelicans are pretty fascinating team as well. It'll be interesting to see how they do.

Pels will be SUPER fun to watch. Damn, the West is ridiculous. Is the West the best conference in NBA history? I guess Phoenix is the only "easy" win, and even they have talent.

I think the Pels may not be ready for the playoffs next year, but who knows. BI and Ball will have really good years I think. For Ball, getting out of LA is huge. He'll do better in a smaller market with less attention.

But he didn't. He said Morey shouldn't have tweeted support for Hong Kong without thinking about the fact that NBA teams were headed to China. He put them (of which he was part of) in harms way. Yes, he worded it poorly but he cleared up the confusion right away. But, I get it - ppl were looking for anything to criticize.

Plus, ppl were criticizing him before his statement that he hasn't said anything. So. I'm sure no comment would have been ok either.

When Nike released that Kap ad - universal thinking was Nike will get demolished in the stock market. Plus, it is not just conservatives - many independents and some in the left don't support BLM. It is never good business to piss off half the population. This is why many athlete never speak out.

And like I said - if someone feels passionately about what China is doing in Hong Kong - stop enabling them by buying their products or products made in China. Every one of those ppl should take personal responsibility to send a msg to China - rather than wait for others to sacrifice.

He said he was misinformed and not educated, when asked if he should be fired he basically said words have consequences and he can dance around it and say I only meant that as it put players safety in danger but that's a bs answer. The guy had a week to come up with a response, is smart enough to know what's going to be highlighted, everything he said was deliberate.

I can only speak for myself but I defended Kerr's non answer. If LeBron wanted to dance around the subject that would be fine with me at least.

All right...I'll go with the reporters who were there who said he right away clarified it after the interview - when reporter asked him what do you mean by misinformed and uneducated.

"I believe he wasn't educated at the situation at hand and he spoke and so many people could be harmed financially, spiritually, physically" How you can interpret that to just player safety in China nah not buying it. He's calling out Morey's stance there and he also threw similar shade today about talking about subjects you don't really know about. In fairness to him though with Morey immediately backtracking that may be influencing him. Still you deserve the criticism once you jump in.

I haven't seen anyone supporting LeBron on this other than sycophants. PTI just roasted him, and like me, has agreed with everything LeBron has spoken out against up to now.

Chinese President Xi Jinping cautioned over the weekend that any external effort to split China will result in "bodies smashed and bones ground to powder" amid ongoing unrest in Hong Kong.

That's an actual quote from the country that was hosting 2 NBA teams last week - when Morey fired off that tweet.

Also, right after the quote you posted - in the next sentence Lebron added that people could have been harmed "not only financially but physically, emotionally, spiritually."

Had the situation escalated - China could have easily delayed the teams from leaving China. They're already accusing that foreign elements and countries are assisting Hong Kong and that's why protests are turning violent.

I put that part in the quote because I knew you'd bring it up if I didn't. I was just showing you were he called out Morey's comments based off of his views itself and not security.

And are you blaming the guy who's calling out the violent leader over that? Sounds backwards and Lebron made his comments safe at home a week later. If he felt physically threatened by Xi during his time there and blamed Morey while saying nada, zero, zilch towards Xi and China that would be misguided and just shows why Morey was right to call them out even if the timing was off.

Because those people China is oppressing don't get that luxury of leaving.

But there's a reason you skipped over Lebron's acknowledgement of financial concerns and went to security because we all know what this is really about.

Lebron made comments knowing fully well that there are several ex-NBA players still playing in China...and NBA will continue to do business with China in future just like all of us...and will eventually visit again.

Also, Lebron is saying that ppl may think that Morey's tweet only threatened our finances when we could have been threatened physically.

But, you read what you want to read lol...I'm done with this. There is a James is a commie thread...let's move it there and talk actually basketball here.

lol no...but it doesn't hurt to be a little careful with comments coming from ppl associated directly with NBA since it's such a hot issue right now.

Morrey pretty much did what Kaep did to the NFL 3 years ago but on a larger scale. I bet all the players, GM, coaches and pretty much the whole organization is piss at Morrey for putting them in awkward position. I read somewhere that it might cost the NBA and possibly the players around $3 billion cause by his comments. I am betting if the Rockets don't make the finals or even the Western Conference finals the ownership will find an excuse to fire him. He is a good GM not sure if he will get black ball like what happened to Kaep.

Lol. China was never going to do anything to a group of super wealthy, well known American athletes. They are already backing down on their threats of banning preseason games and now broadcasting them. This was a power move to try and keep their puppets in line.

People talking like these players nearly got sent a gulag and s**t is laughable. They were a group of super privileged athletes staying at the finest hotels and LeBron is butthurt that Morey's comments inconvenienced him on his Chinese asskissing tour.

This was 100% about the money and China putting LeBron down on his knees, prostrating himself before them, trying to snatch up every yuan they throw his way. The only danger Morey's comment put them in is danger to their wallet's.
