I agree with him in the sense that MIP is not for fringe all-star players who turn into top 10-12 players.
At least that's my understanding. I think it's for players who think are lesser players and they improve to become good players.

Harden has been a decent defender since the 2016 season. He has put a ton of focus and effort into that. He isn't a defensive liability like he once was. But if you listen to the talking heads he still is one of the worst defenders in the league. It's like they are stuck watching videos of him from 12-15.

You might be right. I've mainly focused on Suns game in that time. I don't follow the league like I once did 10 years ago. Not for lack of love, but for time I have to commit to it.
