Figure what out? He is one of the greatest scorers of all time.

But he's never been a winner because his game was never complete. All he did was score. Never played defense that well or elevated his teammates. He's a complimentary piece now and contributing, but he's replaceable as hell

I won't say he was never a winner. Won in college and took Denver to playoffs multiple times. Took Knicks to playoffs too. You look at those rosters - and they weren't very good. I think his biggest mistake was - asking to be trade to Knicks.

And you're right - he's a scorer and he is still that player. Ppl love Lillard - but what has he won? How is he different and I'll argue that Lillard has been on far better teams. I'm just saying - ppl were saying he is done. And, my argument was - he is a great scorer - he'll figure out how to contribute. He can still score - game has changed a lot but one of the greatest scorers shouldn't be treated like he can't play anymore.

Melo went from a star to overrated to underrated. Crazy to hear the way people speak of him like he wasnt an elite player in his prime.

He was an elite scorer. That doesn't translate to elite player though. They always asked 4 other players to just sit there and watch Melo on offense. You will never win with a guy who ball dominates that much.

I don't dislike Melo, I've always been a Melo fan somewhat at least. I used to post stats about how clutch he was in the 4th, especially under 2 min. One of the best efficient scorers in crunch time. But he never played defense, and refused to even rebound.

Barkley to Shaq: the greatest ever? Well Kareem would kill you. He would sky hook your big ass to death

If the Pistons dont s**t their pants during the draft, the idea that Melo isnt a winning basketball player would be more comical than it already is.
Brett Brown has been fired by the Sixers. No one is surprised.

Strange decision.

3-16 in the playoffs with the pacers. 17-36 for his career in the playoffs. Is getting there enough, or should they expect to do something when they get there?

They have him an extension recently I thought?

That's what confuses me lol

2017: Swept by Lebron (understandable)
2018: Two baskets away from eliminating LeBron (commendable)
2019: Swept while missing their best player (understandable)
2020: Swept but best player missed most of the season (slightly understandable)

So while there is an obvious lack of playoff success, I think context needs to be applied here.

So your interjected context means that they shouldn't be bothered by his lack of playoff success?

I just think his lack of playoff success is easily explainable, and even excusable.

Yes!
