There's a strong argument for blowing it up and starting over. Too much sentimentality blunts everyone's edge. Putting aged-out stars on untouchable pedestals sends the wrong signal to guys who aren't treated the same way. It's going to be hard to build a cohesive team from top to bottom with this mindset going forward. Young, talented players aren't going to want to be here.

Yeah. Last game was a good example. Moody clearly outplaying Klay by a mile but Klay got most of the minutes.
I'm not stressed ot about whether the dynasty is over or what they need to do to keep it alive. They gave us 4 titles in the last few years. Dynasties don't last forever. Every great one comes to an end it usually isn't pretty. Look at the Patriots. The 49ers from the 80s and early 90s. The Yankees went years without a title after theirs ended. With success comes higher salaries and eventually that along with age causes the end.

I just say thank you to the players and ownership for a great last few years. It's sad to see it come to an end but eventually there will be a new young team to root for.
This team is short on shooters, if Klay can come back on a reasonable contract with the understanding he's the 6th man, then that is great deal for everyone.
There aren't many 6th man's in the NBA with the accolades of a Klay Thompson. He's a perfect 6th man.

The bigger issue is what to do with Wiggins....

Well said. Thank you for the 4 titles.

The one issue I see is social media will divide the fan base with interviews and quotes from former great players on how management kicked them to the curb and treated them poorly. Dudes get old and with their competitive spirits that made them great, they can't admit or see it when they're done. Management and owners have to make those tough choices.

And the Wiseman choice was a huge setback. That's another thread.

Social media will always have opinions on both sides. The country can't decide on who to vote for so how can we expect a consensus on how to handle this aging team.
I don't think Warriors need wholesale changes for 2024-25 year. Draymond missed like 25 games this season bc of his stupidity and Warriors were still 10 games over .500. iirc, Warriors were 2 games below .500 in games without Draymond. So, had Draymond missed 12 games instead - they likely finish at 4th-6th at worst.

I think this group of Warriors vets have 1 or 2 more years in them. Goal is to find a no 2 option by moving Wiggins and picks and Moody. Imo warriors should not move Kuminga unless they're getting a 1A option.

Just my .02 - but I'm not paying as close an attention as you guys.

They can't keep it together after that. The Kings exposed how slow they are now. We were getting jacked as soon as we took a few dribbles, they shot the lights out and we got smothered defensively. Curry didn't get any room to operate and we had no second scoring option. If the other guys take curry away from us we are screwed. I think looney, cp3, Wiggins, gp2 are all gone for starters. I think Klay will be back, I just don't think they'll have the balls to get rid of him. The question is who do we target in FA or trades? In my opinion if they can dump salary they need to get a legitimate scoring big man anyway they can. The west is huge, every team has a point forward or a huge body in the middle that we can't contend with. Do they throw the sink At Milwaukee to get Gianni's finally? Embied unhappy? We need someone like that. KAT

Absolutely no way you can whiff that bad on a #2 overall pick.

That wasn't a strong draft and Wiseman was considered a top pick based on his size. Unfortunately it was like the Trey Lance situation. He had almost no experience (think he played one game in college) but in a weak draft he was considered a top prospect.

I think Warriors can still contend with:

Curry
No. 2 option by moving Wiggins + Moody + picks
Klay (6th Man)
Dray (non-violent version)
Kuminga
Trade for solid role player by moving GP2 + Looney + picks
Podz
TJD
2 rotational pickups via Bi-Annual and TPMLE

you're doing a lot of dreaming, they moves they can make are pretty limited.
my opinion:

We either completely rip the bandaid off and accumulate as many future draft picks as possible -- curry included -- or we build around the youngsters and curry. Goodbye Klay, Wiggins, CP3, and for the right pieces, Draymond. Best way to do this is Wiggins, CP3, 2026 1, 2028 1 for Jarrett Allen and Donovan Mitchell. Draft Ryann Dunn. Get as many floor spacing wings as possible through whatever avenues possible (draymond trade? MLE?). Of course, this will never happen so I'm I'm favor (sadly) of just ripping off the bandaid.

It's harder to build through the draft now because so many players are coming into the league with one college season. Many aren't prepared. it's one reason we see so many foreign players doing well. They play for a couple years in pro leagues in Europe od SA and are more prepared than these 19 year old college drop outs.
good season..
With the way the playoffs are going, there gonna be some disgruntled stars that ask for a trade

idk if we could make anything happen tho
