Golden State Warriors Talk

Yeah, but KD's contract is terrible, so we might have to get creative if KD expresses interest

most likely KD goes back to the thunder at some point.

Welcome Back KD
KD and LeBron join steph in GS. Old people vs the young guns for one last ride. A billion jersey sales, sellouts on the home and on the road, and a huge parade in SF. KD realizes the error of his ways for leaving his father's side, LeBron realizes the only way to retire with out letting steph gets more rings than him is to join him. Lacob, are you on here??? Make it happen

FREE KD
I can't see how KD to the Warriors is good for either party

because when Steph gets triple teamed we'd have a reliable 2nd option

because KD was being given wide open dunks because teams were more worried about Steph/Klay being open

because I need a dubs championship/playoff via NBA on NBC

there is no steph and klay bro.. splash brothers are done. Klay is now a 6th man, I think he can be a good 6th man.

what will you have to give up for KD? A s**tton of draft picks, Jonathan Kuminga and more?

Steph
Dray
KD
GP2
???

Klay

That's not a winning team to me. Maybe if they can keep TJD and Pod or Moody. But you have to send enough back in terms of dollars or the trade is invalid, i dont see how its possible

Yeah that ship has sailed. You're not beating Denver, OKC and Minnesota by getting older and less athletic.

You give up all that maybe for a KD for a couple years ago. You're not trading for a Prime KD here, you're trading for a guy that the suns owner may want to ship out anyways instead of paying 50 million to (so suns owner is just on the books for Beal/booker contracts, which imo are more harder to trade).

if you could flip Wiggins, Moody, Looney and 1st rounder you'd try. Worst suns could do is say no. Just have to make the contracts work

They would say no after they laughed for a few hours.

Prolly not for that long given their cap outlook for next few years

Beal has a NTC and IIRC they don't own any first until 2030. I think Dunleavy would trade away 1st rounders these next two years, lining up with Steph years.

If they'll take wiggins and cp3 (not sure if his contract is on our books and applies to salary matches) and we have a few other lesser members of the team to trade for matching we can get someone good. Cp3 is an expiring contract over 30m and can still run an offense like the best of them. I think theyll bring klay back so that will eat up some cap but Lacob is ultimately a fan and wants to win. If we were 30 games out of the playoffs it's a different story. This team lost wiggs and Drayton for weeks/months and still were only 3 games out of a guaranteed spot. They were one of the best teams in the league after dray came back. We aren't as far off as some people think

They could get a lot more than that for KD. Moody is average but will never be a star, Looney is on the decline and a backup at best, and Wiggins was just bad this past year and on an inflated contract. Teams that are close to a title would be all over KD and offer much more than what the Warriors can give. Come on... they would ask for JK, Pod, TJD, and Wiggins ( just to get salaries close) plus multiple picks.
Why would you guys want KD? Time to go younger imo. Go after Brandon Ingram. He could be available and you can keep Kuminga too if willing to give up picks & Moody + Wiggins.

Curry - BI - Kuminga - Draymond - Klay

That's a great 5 to build out the rest of the roster. Pushes Klay to no 4 option which fits him perfectly.

Just my 2 cents.

I get the feeling Ingram is injury prone even though he is younger.

i also doubt that's all it would take for Ingram. Although his value rn is likely at a low given this past year and playoff performance.
