Really smart defensive strategy for the Rockets. Just focus on Steph, frustrate him so he takes bad shots, and let everyone else shoot 3s. If Buddy hadn't had a good game for him this would have been a blow out.
Have to run the table now I'm afraid
I didn't get a chance to watch the game live, had an early morning appointment here.
Seemingly, Houston's plan to control Curry paid off. Only scored 3-points
, who'd they have guarding Steph?
had amen Thompson and Dillion brooks hugging Steph full court. Then doubling when Steph had any screeners. Very much like a blitz the kings used to do
While Rockets had a solid game plan (and there length bothers us, always some 6'11 dude on the floor) , I dont think Kerr really adjusted much. Given we might run into the rockets in the post-season, wondering if Kerr didn't want to tip his hand on to counters. We schemed some plays for others, that the rockets didn't really expect (i.e. buddy screen for an open three in corner). Clearly Udoka remembers from the Finals that Steph is the key.
Post-game the team seemed pretty relaxed and chill.
