LSU didn't really want Clemson. They'd rather face Buckeyes. Believe that.

Gotta agree with this, it was poor game management by Day on that last drive. They tried to go for it all instead of using the first downs to set up the touchdown.

Wow. Didn't know the HC told the QB to throw it up for grabs even if his WR runs the wrong route. What horrible "game management".

lol

37 seconds left. they were on Clem's 23 yard line and had the first down. They had one timeout and lots of time to pick up two first downs without going for it all. They could've made things a whole lot easier for them if they hadn't thrown that pass.

They scored a wide open TD on a similar check play earlier in the game. Looked like they were trying to do the same thing. Players just screwed up. Can't blame the coach.

Agree to disagree, but like I said, with that much time (37 sec) and one timeout, they could've made things a whole lot easier for them on the 23 yard line. And it's not like they didn't have Clem's defense on their toes, OSU was driving, that swing pass to Dobbins was working for them.

The dump off to Dobbins was there if Fields wanted it. But most play calls are going to have some big play options in it as well. Fields saw an opportunity unfortunately the wr broke off the route too early and that was the ballgame.
FWIW

After the game, both Fields and Olave were asked about the play and the mix-up in the end zone.

"It was a one-on-one with me on the safety, and I was supposed to run the post," Olave said after the game. "But when I looked back, I thought he scrambled, so I tried to work the second part of my route. he ended up throwing it, and that's how the game ended."

Fields said Ohio State got the look it wanted, but that there was a miscommunication right as he was throwing the football.

"It was the look we wanted and Chris — it was basically just a miscommunication," Fields said. "That happens in life. You really can't do anything about it now, so you just have to move on."

lol that was your take away from today?

The better team lost today. Clemson is gonna lose by 20+.

The better team got beat and couldn't make a play when they needed it most.

Kind of fitting since most the dudes playing will have a better chance at working for Autozone than playing in the NFL
