I'm cool with it but can this dude even play still?

The deal, I'm told, includes a player option in Year 4 and 15-percent trade kicker for the restricted free agent
The Kings will have 48 hours to match

Lol that was a smart move by the Hawks.
Personally I think Kings should retain him regardless. Idk why they were doing a sign and trade. He's a pretty good player and still young.
Kings already have time attracting good players. Not sure why they dint want to keep him.
Now, if they want to trade him eventually to get something back in return - you trade him to the destination of his liking and ask him to waive his trade-kicker. It's not that complicated tbh.

It actually is complicated. He's pissed and wants to leave now, his agent is a snake who has a history of shady dealings/not dealing in good faith and it's going to be hard to justify tying up $41+ mil in 2 disgruntled SGs. The trade kicker actually is what makes it an easier decision. As much as I would prefer they keep him, Unfortunately the Kings got screwed by the Bucks and Bogi's agent.

I'd still keep both bc you don't want to lose assets like that - especially when you're the Kings. Mend fences and work it out. Trade one at a later date or keep both. Bogi can easily slide into SF slot. Basketball is kind position-less anyway.
Just my opinion.

Agreed. I want him back as well and they are in no position to let talent walk. At the same time I can see why they are not going to match. L Also curious if they are looking at possible deals for Buddy prior to midnight and then match Bogi. But McNair covets Buddy's shooting, however Walton hates him lol. So screwed up. Hopefully McNair hates Walton
Also, Bogi at the 3 didn't go so well

You guys watch Kings basketball and Bogi every day - so you guys know better.
If Bogi is a no go at 3 maybe move Buddy. Keep both for now and find a trade for Buddy during the season. Tough to move him in a day when teams know Kings are desperate. I am sure some contender or someone desperate to make playoffs will want a shooter at the deadline.
For example:
I'd call Cavs and ask for Buddy for Drummond swap or call Pacers for Myles Turner swap. Memphis has no SG and has Valanciunas at Center...call Knicks for Julius Randle swap. My point is - shooting is at a premium in this league and I'm sure Kings will find a trade. I feel losing Bogi for nothing is the worst move here.
