***NBA DA BUBBLE OFF-SEASON Thread***

In 1961 Bill Russell with a handful of other Celtics sat out a preseason game in protest of racial injustice.

So, it was pointless bc they didn't get civil rights before the next game?!?
It's not about losing rednecks. It's about losing everyone since you can't even guarantee a product. Who the f wants to shell out thousands of dollars to watch a season that may or may not have a finish?

Chris Haynes reporting that star players want to finish out the season.

Lebron wants to finish the season. His tweets are nice, but he ain't going nowhere. We'll get games back in a few days.

I don't know if this is a reference to my posts.

But I t should clarify its not that its pointless.

But I think a prolonged protest will be more powerful than a short one.

If its a powerful message to sit out a few days, it will be even more powerful to cancel playoffs completely. Right? That's my point. I'm saying no half-measures. NBA players should push all their chips in and make a massive stand for their political beliefs.

I'm not trying to say a protest of a few days is 100% pointless.

Lebron is the last player I would expect to stand for anything when he has his money at stake. I still don't think the NBA will be back. This is bigger than Lebron

I'm pretty sure NBA players want political change...which would be....political beliefs

I would respect the nba players more if they cancelled the season. That would be a hell of a statement.

I think sitting out 1 playoff game is pretty powerful too. Has never happened before. Brewers also sitting out.

All NBA players quitting their careers will be even bigger.

All nba owners dissolving the league will be even bigger.

Doesn't mean they have to do that to make a point.

Honest question, who is it making a statement to? Is this really going to change anybody's mind? These players are given the national stage right now, how does ending the season help the cause?

It seems to me quitting is playing right into the hands of those who want this silenced.
