I read an article that said expansion is most likely coming. It will help recoup the losses from the pandemic. Seattle and Vegas are the cities. It will also bring realignment. Most likely following the NFL's lead with 8 4-team divisions. Some teams could move to the East to make it make more sense regionally. Maybe even a complete redesign of the conference systems.

This would be years away though. They pointed out it normally takes 2 years once a critter is awarded a franchise before they're ready to play.

They def need 2 new teams. Lot of talent in the league. Seattle and Vegas will be perfect. Move Memphis and NOLA to the East. Zion and Murant become a huge draws in the Eastern Conf. and likely makes the league more balanced talent wise as well. Also reduces travel for West coast teams.

If they wanted true balance on the conferences then only one team from the west could move to the East. That would make it 16/16. Memphis and NOLA are both right on the border. Timberwolves too.

Eastern conference will pay for the west to keep the Timberwolves

They do not need 2 more teams. You already have teams making it to the playoffs with barely a winning record or losing record

You're right. They don't need 2 more teams. They want 2 more teams. And they want the billions of dollars in franchise fees that the new owners will pay to get in.

That happened in the 80s and 90s too when they added 6 more expansion teams. Now, that was ridiculous but adding 2 teams right now will be good for the game. It'll spread out the stars rather than multiple stars on 1 team and make it more competitive. Now, if they expanded 4 or 6 teams - they'd significantly water down the league.

For me - it makes sense to add 2 more teams. Making playoffs with losing record is due to 16 teams making playoffs out of 30. Having more than half the league make the playoffs will generally result in some teams making in with barely winning record or losing record. This has always been the case in the NBA for as long as I can remember except a year or two here and there.
2 teams is perfect.

I like this new playoff seeding as well, keep it.

They dont need two more teams. Just move the teams from middle of nowhere markets to cities and markets were stars would like to stay or go to.

OKC? meh - move it back to Seattle.

Sacramento? eff that. Move to Vegas or even San Diego.

I think Orlando is a cool city but jrg's team keeps giving away their stars lol.

Charlotte? owned by MJ. Nice area but maybe Austin needs an NBA team because its cool by itself and far away enough from San Antonio.

Can't the 2nd city support two teams? Dunno.
The spurs. 👀

Lakers should be able to get this. But is there any one player in the nba you'd rather have to win a must win game than Steph?

LeBron James for me.

Yeah LeGOAT, I was right.
