They'll put in a percentage on how much you can defer in the next CBA.
Just heard Bobby Valentine on High Heat talk about Yamamoto. He doesnt think Yamamoto will go to LA simply because Ohtani signed there but is the kind of guy who will go to the highest bidder. His final comment was that he wouldnt count out him going to SF. I still doubt it but the Giants have to make some splash so maybe they overpay big time.
Could you imagine Farhan talking to an agent/player and asking for a deferred money deal? On a two year deal with a player/team option lmaoooo

I think it's pretty obvious that the whole plan was Ohtani's idea. I don't think any franchise would come out with offers like this - most players won't even consider it. Too bad Ohtani is not like most players.

Hopefully, has already peaked and isn't as good as he was in Anaheim.

my checklist would be a CF who can play the field, Chapman and Snell if not Yamamoto

1 down, 2 to go

can I laugh at LAD for spending $70m on 1 year for a DH? this contract looks so much better
No idea how his offense will play out in MLB but he is a 5 tool potential star in his prime

Finally some excitement added to the roster

You and Garce are aware one of the 5 tools is hitting for power, right?

Yeah I don't know a ton about this man, but I wouldn't really classify him as 5 tool. maybe gap or triple alley power
power is overrated, we've had all these one dimensional swing for the fences types, we badly needed the other traits, so he rounds us out perfectly

my homerism is in dream mode sorry

he is a 4+ tool with extra base potential
triples alley will be fun for him
Let's be honest, would you rather have this deal or the Shohei deal, which is 10 year 700m (forget the deferred, they have to pay it all out eventually)

do i have the homer goggles on here, or do we say our deal is better?
Shohei isn't gonna pitch next season, and that's comical money for all of a players 30s, what happens if he hits the wall at 34
