I think you could easily argue that Posey is the most significant player in the history of San Francisco baseball because of the 3 titles. I would hate to see any of that legacy get mixed with "What the hell is Posey thinking with that move??"

Its Mays.

But I don't worry about that stuff. Posey is a goat no matter what.

He's an influencer in the trading card community, not sure if yall are aware lol

this is what I was suggesting yesterday. And man I would love it.

Thats what I suggested days ago.

Posey as President of Ops (a la John Lynch). He hires a GM for Day to Day roster management.

Posey gives us a respected figurehead that can be a true attractant to allure super stars to want to come here.

Posey was a big part of those titles but so was Bochy. So were Lincecum, Cain and Bum. So were the relievers. Those teams won as a team not because of a great individual. The Giants had many teams with better players like Mays, McCovey and Bonds but couldn't win.

Mays is the greatest player in Giants history, but not the most significant. Posey brought our first 3 titles. He was the linchpin for our success. We were losers before him, and have gone back to being losers after him. Obviously he didn't do it alone, but he was the biggest reason for the championships. In 2010 all the players said he was a massive difference maker. Huff said he was the team captain within 2 months of being called up in 2010.

Maybe I'm just confused by what you meant, but how is 17 for 53 = to .500 batting average?

Lol....oops...thinking 17 for 33. It's why I don't work for Baseball Weekly, if that's still a thing.

Without Mays, you may not have been watching the SF Giants win 3 titles in that city.

I brought it up for a reason, dummy. It's also hilarious. He's had signed rookie cards posted on eBay for over a grand because of it.

Hopefully it's at least a decent game. It's the Willie Mac award ceremony night

Try the crab fries!!!
Ohtani, 5/5, 2 HRs, 2 Steals, 7 RBI
50 HRs, 50 Steals

Like I said, he's the greatest of all time. It's not a debate.

Eh, the Giants were heading to TB in 1992 regardless of what Mays had done. Peter Magowan is the reason we have 3 titles if you want to go back that far.

What happened.....

Ohtani's camp: we want $700m over 10 years but fully deferred

Farhan: we are prepared to offer you that. Just let us know.

What should have happened....

Ohtani's camp: we want $700m over 10 years but fully deferred

Farhan: we would like to offer you $1B over 10 years but fully deferred. We can have the contract drawn up in 1 hour.

lol you're nuts if you think he was signing here. He wants to win, and not only are we not ready to win now, we're not even looking like we're on our way there. Obviously the money wasn't THAT important if he chose to defer it all into the future.
Something HAS to change at this point.

Hmmm, we may have to. I'm sure it's $50 or something, but it sounds delicious! I've always wanted to try that crazy crab sandwich too. I know back in the day it was like $20, so I'm sure it's a lot more now.

I know the team isn't too exciting to watch, but I'm excited to see the ballpark again after 11 1/2 years.
