lol the Giants would never. After Larry Baer's incident with his wife, and the Kapler/Farhan press conference about the sexual assaults they ignored in LA, they hired Alyssa Nakken specifically to save face with women. Regardless of his innocence, the Giants aren't going to undo the goodwill PR they gained back by signing Bauer.

On a Zoom call, Justin Verlander said negotiating with Buster Posey was "refreshing" given his background. Verlander: "I think that was something for me that was a nice draw to talk to someone that has been on the field."

Yes, not surprising at all. Chances were extremely minimal. LA or SD guaranteed.
All the other meetings were elaborate show by the agent.

#SFGiants outfielder Jung Hoo Lee left for the U.S. Monday night (Korean time), said he's "100%" after season-ending shoulder surgery in June.

Thanked the Giants for taking great care of him (they sent a trainer to Korea to work with him)https://t.co/8KFTtt8Ro1

Another pitcher (Flaherty-3 years $60M-63M) and push Hicks into bullpen / 6th starter or option in case of the injury(s). In addition to what the plans are for the young pitchers like Back, Black or someone else.
Or the 20M/yr DH bat ala Soler and pray the SF park will not reduce his power in half. Maybe signing Flaherty and going trade route for the bat (multiple prospects except Eldridge, including young pitcher(s) for decent bat). What say you?

Now that Sasaki is certainly gone, I am interested to hear everyone's opinion or speculation on what the Giants should do next. My speculation is the Giants badly need another strong pitcher and a strong bat to even think about competing for the wild card. My hesitation is given the money implications and the budget mandate, they may only have the money left for one of those after signing Adames, Verlander and extending Chapman. Who would suit the Giants better, another pitcher (Flaherty-3 years $60M-63M) and push Hicks into bullpen / 6th starter or option in case of the injury(s). jd martinez 1 year $8m
a couple quality relief arms also
Thanks God you are not a Giants GM. Dumpster dive is where the Giants had been the last 8-9 years with the obviously great results.

here is what i was thinking. buster subbed in verlander for scherzer at that exact price point i was talking about.
i'd go in on flaherty. i do see a opening here for DH and utility piece.

I think they have plenty of utility pieces, Flores, Schmidt, Wiseley, McRay, Encarnacion, Luciano, Matos. What they need is the strong DH. Given the money restriction, I knew they don't have nearly enough to cover all the bases and when they were hunting for Burnes, I Initially had hoped for a year of Goldschmidt in DH/1st base role. He's actually got much more than I thought he would get, and that option is gone anyway.

on that side of it i prioritize pitching. so land flaherty and if that's a 9 figure deal, so be it. you can find DH in the bargain bin. JD for example is an all star 3 of the last 4 years, and can bring that kind of middle of order bat if right. he just had a down year. so maybe we get a discount on a one year deal. i wonder if rizzo makes sense then you dh him or wade.

you want .235 with 16 HRs? We have that.

I want nothing to do with him if we are talking multi-year deal. I'd be open to signing him for one season, but if he chooses to sign a one year contract, its going to be for substantially more than he is worth.

I'd take him on a 2-3 year deal. If it was decent money.

Looking forward to seeing him play again. Was the most exciting player on this team last year IMO until the injury finished his season.
