Yeah, nice at bat there to go the other way to get that run home. He's off to a really good start this year - keep hearing he's feeling back to full health.

One of the better catches I've seen in this spacious ballpark covering that kind of ground and going into the netting.

Either that or a shoulder injury like a dislocation. He was holding his arm at the wrist area but the trainer was holding his shoulder from both sides as they walked off. It would really suck if he hurt both in what turned out to be a loss.

Giants in first place for the first time in quite some time. At least the Dodgers can't go wire to wire. Two big injuries already for them so maybe it's their year to have trouble keeping everyone healthy.

I am actually confused at the ruling on that play. Why was Matos (I believe it was), not allowed to advance one base with the player going out of play with the ball?
My bad. Watched it again. He was on first not second.

I also don't understand how that is leaving the field of play.
Damn my birdsong breakout couldn't have been more wrong, dude not even a starter lol

I guess it's because he dove into the stands to make the catch even though they have that screen there. He came bck into fair territory before he actually fell to his knees and the ball rolled out of his glove.

Initial tests showed a shoulder injury that will require further tests to see if it will require surgery.

Its early. It was down to him and Roupp in ST and at the very end Roupp was good and Birdsong got rocked, so he lost the spot. Im sure at least one rotation spot will be up for grabs in the next couple months. He'll just have to beat Harrison to it.
It looks like Eldridge is still nursing a sore wrist. He's not playing yet in Richmond or Sacramento. I'm not sure what the problem is. I hope it doesn't bother him all season and retard his development.

It's early. There's a reason why The Melv kept him on the roster. Given the age and injury history among some starters, my guess is Hayden will get a chance.

Just read that Robles was put on the IR with a dislocared shoulder. I suspected that based on the way they were holding it as he walked off the field. Further imagng will be needed to detern=mine if he'll need surgery. Minor disocations can sometimes be popped back in but if there's any significant structural damage he could be out a long time.
