2025 San Francisco Giants Season Thread

Last night was a product of a long string of games. Verlander struggled through 5 and they tried to push it to 6 to save the pen. Then Birdsong finally got roughed up this year. Hopefully Ray throws a good game tonight.

I would put Fitz in the leadoff position for a while and see how it goes. Set up Willy and Jung.

He's certainly got the speed for a ledoff guy. If he can get a little more seletive and improve his OBP he would be ideal. They said the Giants are going to be facing a lot of left handers over the next few games so Wade will probably be on the bench with Schmitton first.

Yes, you need guys on base in front of Adames, Lee and Chapman so they can see the better pitches. I'll put Flores at 5, Ramos or Yaz at 6-7 Bailey at 8 and Jr. at 9. Despite his struggles, he just more suited to maybe rediscover some hitting over Bailey. And if Fitz continues to flourish (hopeful thinking based on just one or two games), that will set the table. As for Verlander, I'll be patient while continuing to say in reality he is really washed up and it looks like typical Giants back end signing for the sake of PR signing, aka "cheap splash".

yep. I'd go

1 Fitz
2 Adames
3 Jung
4 Chapman
5 Flores
6 Ramos
7 Yaz
8 Bailey
9 Wade/Schmitt

Its amazing this lineup is 12-5. 2, 8 and 9 have been basically automatic outs to start the season. 1 has been an automatic out until the last 3 games.

Crazy.
Willy with a double and Jung drives him in
Come on Wade, Jesus Christ.
Great first inning though.
4 run first inning off Nola is nice
Ray was struggling
After being spotted 4 runs, you absolutely cannot create a free rally with walks. Awful first inning for Ray. Hope he settles in.
Wade down to .104
What a horrendous outing for Ray. Unacceptable.
The Giants starters are having to leave early because they're throwing too many pitches. They're getting up around 80-100 pitches by the 4th inning. It seems like other teams are also in the same boat. Too many full counts. I don't know if hitters are getting fussier or pitchers are nibbling too much.
