Those two posts from RN are the closest you will get to "declaring the offense is dead" and they arent really close at all. You wont find posts from me indicating the offense is dead either. Take a breath and relax man. We can enjoy what has happened so far at the same time as being concerned that this isnt a sustainable way to win games. Doesnt have to be one or the other.
The pitching is over performing, the offense is under performing. Based on last year, the level of offensive talent on this team (no super stars, but guys with some decent track records), the new additions... I think it's a reasonable expectation that we see a correction in the opposite direction. Improved offense, dip in pitching, especially with Cueto out. How far we dip in pitching will be the major question to be answered and a big indicator in our success this year.
You're saying conclusions from last year are irrelevant because 60 games, sure that is a small sample size vs 162 but there is still useful info in those 60 games. You think Farhan is dismissing last year? I don't. It is what it is.
For example, I think Yaz proved that 2019 wasn't a fluke and I think that Slater at least he proved when healthy, he can mash LHP. I am not basing my opinions on last year alone but I don't dismiss it completely either.
