2024 San Francisco Giants Season Thread

The Giants built their racecar from scratch and the Dodgers bought a Ferrari. Tough to win a race against that. Its pretty impressive we came as close as we did.

Dodgers absolutely pitched superbly. Credit to Roberts and there staff. Just shut us down. And their defense was elite, I think Turners error was there only one of the series?

True, but the team's offense has been stagnant coming into the NLDS. The Dodgers just made it obvious.

Again, I blame Buster for his pitch calling there in the 9th. You dont call for slider after slider when Bellinger has struggled all year with high fastballs. Just inexcusable.

After that HBP and fastball down the middle I can see why Buster called it that way. Doval was shook.

i would generally agree that the dodgers are the better team. however, it didn't help that the dodgers pitchers got the benefit of the doubt almost all the time. I've never seen so many upper outside calls go for one team. i get it that we sucked with risp but some of those at bats could have ended up differently if the counts were changed

Buster was literally our best player in this series, along with Webb, so im not going to blame him.

KB had ball four at his ankles and it was called a strike.

They call it correctly and it's men on 1st and 2nd with no outs.

Sometimes all the offense needs is one spark but they never let us have it.

Done with baseball until they address garbage umpiring. Sorry. But I care about the integrity of the game.

Next batter hit a soft grounder up middle and would have been double play - so result would have been the same runner on 3rd two outs.

Yeaaaah that's not how it works lol.

Pitchers AND batters play differently in different circumstances. The odds of the same pitch, let alone same exact grounder up the middle happening, is slim to none.

There was also a wild pitch during Slater's AB in which Crawford advanced, so it would've been 2nd and 3rd with no outs and that grounder up the middle by Slater would've scored a run if you play that game. But I agree if Bryant gets that walk it changes how all the AB's/pitches happen afterwards so it's all speculation.
Damn shame.
Crawford should have hit a 2 run HR in the first instead of striking out. Oh well. It was a good run.
I really don't know why they threw six straight sliders to Bellinger. Still miffed at that

absolutely, it's just frustrating how little the bats showed up in games 4 and 5.
You all think Buster comes back for the last year on his contract?

Will be fun to hopefully have Bart and Ramos with us next year...

I think they will let Buster make that choice, he has earned that right imo.

Havent followed Bart, but is he ready?

I think the only question is will he play for SF next year and then retire, or will he sign an extension to finish his career. I don't think there is any chance we see him in another uniform.
