I think Farhan will sign Gausman to a long term deal, possibly give DeScalfani the QO, sign Belt to a 3 year deal, and then find another starter or 2 off the scrap heap. I cant imagine Belt not coming back now. They need his leadership and his bat.

Going to miss Buster for sure. I dont think he will make the HOF but he will go down as the greatest Giants catcher ever. Hard to believe how time flies. Seems like yesterday that he was a rookie leading the team to their first WS title in SF.

I dont think so. Bart will be the primary starter with Casali as backup.

The Game was discussing his stats and said he was borderline HOF, and definitely not a first ballot.

But his accomplishments, his rings and his meaning to the team might make some of the voters reconsider when his time is up.

Joey Bart needs to hit one HR in the Major Leagues first. He was barely above the league average for PCL hitters last year.

lol you honestly don't think he's making the HOF?? I think he's a lock. Best catcher of his era. Elite at every aspect of the position. MVP. Key factor in 3 World Series titles. World class human being. I can't imagine a scenario where he isn't elected.

I think Buster Posey will make the Hall of Fame. However, if you get a group of voters who are overly focused on statistics, it may take him a while. Considering his accomplishments and awards/accolades, he should get in. But theres always a chance people look at his stats and vote no.

IMO certain players define a generation, and are already in the voters heads as a HOF type guy. Posey was THE guy for 3 WS title teams, and a perennial All-Star at C. He was the box the baseball fan kind of automatically checked on the All-Star ballot for NL catcher without really looking into the numbers.

I think when his name hits the ballot in 5 years the voters will remember "3 rings, MVP, All-Star regular", and the last memory of him was being that guy in 2021. He ended as good as he started. I don't think they will feel a ton of need to dig into the numbers and talk themselves out of it. He feels like a no-brainer legacy type guy where the numbers wont need to be a tiebreaker.
