they need to stop this process and let the HOF committee vote the players in. it's almost embarrassing some of these ballots and the reasoning.

heres my two cents, if the Hall of Fame is not commissioned and ran by MLB, why the f**k do these sports writer's have so much say in this! Half these schmucks haven't seen most of these players on the ballot even play

The whole process has always been a farce. They wont vote in the steroid era players, but they did vote in the commissioner who allowed it in order to make baseball popular (Bud Selig).

Watch them vote in steroid user David Ortiz.

Ortiz will easily make it, which will expose the voters for lying about why they're keeping Bonds and Clemens out.

The writers are given the vote because its supposed to be an unbiased opinion from people who cover the game, but it's become the most biased opinion out there.

Majority of these writers are Northeast crowd Boston and NY markets and ESPN HQ jagoff types correct me if I am wrong.

Each market has equal representation IIRC.

So do you all think we will make any more moves before the lockout tmw night?

At this point Farhan will probably just wait and then go nuts in the buyers market after the lockout is over.

Correct. Each market does indeed have equal representation. Sadly a lot of these cats are too young to be voting IMHo.
i have a feeling and I hope this happens but this will be another s**t voting year and will expose the hole in the system and they change it to a committee. Mad Dog Russo was voicing for that this morning. Enough is enough.

Ugh that's what I am thinking. Dude is just cruising through the market just eye shopping while all the others teams are like the covid TP hoarders and loading up

He just isn't going to participate in this overpaying extravaganza. It sucks as a fan because you cant get excited about new players, but ultimately his financial discipline is part of why he's executive of the year.

This is just as bad. A lot of these old time players are basically voting their friends in, which is how you get "hall of famers" like Harold Baines.

It can't be as bad as it is now when you have a 40 yr old voting fkn David Ortiz, Sosa & Scott Rolen in. Or you have f**ks like Steve Marcus with an empty ballot for the second year in a row. Nah I don't see how it can get any worse. The NFL HOF committee does it , why not Baseball?? I am quite sure they can make up a board of trustee's who make the final say. This way it takes the final say away from the writers. The NFL found a way to take the final say away from the writers, why not Baseball??
