It's that time.
GARCE'S 2022 BOLD PREDICTIONS
***Some people need a reminder but a BOLD prediction is meant to be fun, maybe unlikely but not completely out of the realm of possibility.
A stance that likely goes against common narratives.***
First, let's revisit last year.
GARCE'S 2021 BOLD PREDICTIONS
RECORD - 85-77
WILD CARD BIRTH
BREAKOUT HITTER - AUSTIN SLATER
.290, 15 HRS 15 SBS
BREAKOUT PITCHER - KEVIN GAUSMAN
15 WINS, 3.2 ERA, 190KS
OFFENSE MVP - EVAN LONGORIA
.270, 25 HRs, 80 RBI
BRANDON BELT FINALLY WINS A GG
YAZSTREMSKI MAKES THE ALLSTAR GAME
No one could have predicted a 107 season, last year was one of the most fun and memorable season I've ever seen without winning a title. I'm very excited and feel very fortunate to be a fan of this talented front office and management team. The anti-thesis of the Oakland A's, an absolute joke of a franchise.
I feel like Longoria could have been MVP (of our team) if he didn't get hurt, he was off to a decent start. I think it's pretty obvious Buster Posey's incredible year proved to be that. An awesome comeback, sad to see him not our team anymore. Austin Slater... that didn't work out. Kevin Guasman actually exceeded the prediction. An all-star, 2.97 ERA and 227 Ks. Sad to see him go. Although he had a great year, I think we all saw the flaws in his game. Great season though. Goldschit won the GG but I think Belt could have had a chance if he didn't get hurt. Also a candidate for team MVP.
GARCE'S 2022 BOLD PREDICTIONS
RECORD - 95-67 - 1ST PLACE NL WEST
BREAKOUT HITTER - MAURICIO DUBON
.285 BA, 12 HRs, 60 RBI, 15 SBs
He hit .330 in AAA last year, we will rely on him early due to injuries and I think he capitalizes. He started slow last year and never got it going but did well in his time in Sac.
BREAKOUT PITCHER - TYLER BEEDE
140 IP, 12 WINS, 3.4 ERA, 150 Ks
Coming off Tommy John, now two years under the player development in this regime...Yung Beeda FINALLY puts together his potential and some value for this organization.
PITCHER MVP - ALEX COBB
170 IP, 14 WINS, 3.15 ERA, 170KS
Dude is hitting 97 MPH...coming off a season where he was at his highest K/9 in his career, this staff gets the most out of him and he becomes an anchor in this rotation.
OFFENSE MVP - BRANDON BELT
.275 BA, 32 HRS, 85 RBIs and Gold Glove
What are your bold predictions?
